If you want to buy a 6th gen SS with a V8, you should be starkly AGAINST the turbo 4 cylinder option because you'll be paying for that R&D in your price. It is an unknown, so that vehicle will have to be subsidized with the cars you know will sell (the SS's).

I'm praying this is just BS and there will be no turbo option.
You are praying for naught. ATS has 4 turbo & V6. I think quite likely a modified ATS platform to fit the V8 is what IS coming...but likely the V8 was already planned for the ATS. GM is not going to waste the ATS development dollars to NOT fit a 4 turbo in the Camaro.

We call that a hand grenade.

Mrs. Number 3's ATS sounds just like a 4 cylinder. Smooth as silk though. Drove a CTS with the same engine and it has a completely different sound. Drove an Audi A6 with their 2.0t and it felt like they wanted to penalize anyone who bought a 4 cylinder. But my Audi Q5 with a 2.0t was pretty awesome. So Alpha can be "ok" and pretty good with the 2.0t

Doubt it. My guess is the I4 will be set up to boost so quickly that the V6 ends up getting better real world MPG, and have a better top end.

The alpha platform already has a V-8 engine in testing right this moment, the new CTS V packs a supercharged V-8 engine and the CTS also sits on the alpha platform.

Also people forget that the Chevy Small Block is a very compact engine design meaning it doesn't need that much more space (if any at all) over a V-6 engine which is already in the ATS. Not only that but the LT1 is lighter then the LF3 engine (twin turbo 3.6L DOHC all aluminum V-6 engine) while producing more horsepower and torque and better fuel consumption.

Yes, they put the LSx engine in a mini-truck, SSR, and FWD cars. It's very small for a modern V8. It will fit in an ATS.

Some questions arise about the rumor that Cadillac will have a turbo LSx engine in the next CTS-V. Probably not true.

Ha, that is the funniest thing that I've read on this board in a long time. Example #7,643 of a dealer spewing pure rubbish/lies/ignorance (take your pick) in order to sell you a car TODAY.

I find that dealers often know little to nothing about these cars unless the person you are talking to happens to be a car fan.

If Ford offers a performance tune like GM did, then yes I'd say over 323 HP.
I'd put money on you being both correct and incorrect on this one. Ford has stated "over 305hp". I'll wager that we'll see the Euro-spec 2.3 rated around 310-315, fulfilling the stated 305+. However, since the US doesn't have any regulations prohibiting the advertisement of temporary output figures like the Europeans do; we'll see advertised numbers attained within the Ecoboost's "overboost" feature, which provides an uptick of about 7-8%. Most likely in the 330-340hp range

Which will allow the LGX to stay competitive from a HP numbers standpoint. If GM is planning on utilizing the new 3.6L to directly compete with the 2.3, the thing I'm anxious to hear about is the tq output.

For the Camaro the 2.0T is going to be the base engine and the V-6 is going to be the upgrade engine. This is going to be confusing for some people I am sure as they want to compare I-4 o I-4 and V-6 to V-6.
How do you know the 4T is the base?
It may be an upgrade as well.

A pillar back is ok...just not into the Gen 2 retro...or any retro for that matter. I'm sure some will like the retro though.
