I am not sure of things on the TN side the run. There are lots of places to park and unload near the lake and just before Topcat Bridge. Personally, I would strongly caution you about taking a long rig like that on to the Tail. I think that is just asking for trouble.

Maybe give the folks at Deal's Gap a call and they may have a bit better information. http://tailofthedragon.com/contact/

You could also call the folks at the Inn where we are staying. There may be a big lot and you can leave the rig there. It would necessitate you coming back to the rig on Monday Night or Tuesday morning. http://www.dragonpittinnandbbq.com/wp/rooms/

Thanks for the info. I had no plans of driving my truck and trailer thru the "Tail". I may be foolish some times but I'm not stupid.

One point that I wanted to add: Deal's Gap has real 93 octane gas. Since we may be driving in to The Dragon Pitt Inn at a bit later hour and I am unsure of octane rating on that side of the mountain, having a good refuel stop at Deal's Gap may prove to be beneficial.

Do take this seriously:

It was a sad day for Dragon regulars after the loss of Kyle Moroney in an auto accident Saturday night on the road he loved. Kyle and a passenger died in a tragic accident. There is not much more to say at this point … we are all shaken.

Just booked with Dragon Pit. Dennis wanted to know if there was a dinner set up for the group and I don't know. He asked to have you call him if you want to set up something as a group for dinner I guess. 865-253-3565 Thanks again for organizing and sharing the fun!! Peggy

I just talked to Dennis and said we would have ~15 people for dinner at the Dragon Pitt Inn. I checked in with the Dillard House and I will give them a call on Monday 7/17 to firm up our reservation time for dinner. Since it is done family style and we are all staying at the Inn, there should not be any issue. Finally, we are listed on The Tail of the Dragon web page under the event section. I will send another e-mail reminding them of our lunch plans, a bit closer to the event.

Finalizing our details, we've made our reservation at Dillard House for Monday night. Getting close now.
