The best I have gotten here at sea level is 4.3 seconds in my 1LE, but I consistently pull a 4.4 or 4.5. That's 1 second slower than my best time in my Z06 at 3.3, but it feels like it's forever slower.

I'm sure there's more in both of them on a better day for the driver, and if I continue to lose more of this beer belly.

From a fellow SS 1LE owner. I think PTM isn't best for 0-60. I think sport mode w/ competition mode is best.

What is your altitude? I'm surprised the 2ss does so well against the zl1. I'm at about 800-900ft and with hot tires I can get 3.9 0-60 on my stock ss with e85. The fastest 1/4 I've measured using the dash was 11.9, I wish it would tell you the trap speed though.

My elevation is 700-750 feet. I will get better numbers out of the ZL1. I haven't tried to improve on them yet. I expect a 3.4-3.5 0-60 on the ZL1 once I figure out Torque Management, its very intrusive. Maybe a tenth or two on the quarter times.

Nice. Does launch control work well on the ZL1? It is useless on the SS with a supercharger.

Thumbs down

I tried launch control a few times today and it looks like I've got a lot to learn. How are people getting mid to low 4s?

Most of my runs were at 5.4 seconds. I can't seem to bring it down. This is at 3,400 feet elevation with temp sitting at 65F and 28% humidity.

I wonder if the break in period has to do with this. I didn't do much WOT but a bunch and drove on the highway for a couple of hours once.

Tell me about it. I am not sure where to start. I will be asking the lovely people here on how to work the M6 SS soon.

That is incredible. Is there a specific technique you are using in terms of shifting, prepping the tires, and using Launch Control? What RPM are you holding it on? I am 3400 feet above sea level and I am also a rookie with manuals. I'm looking for any advice to help me improve.

This was cool, dense night air (Maybe 50F) at about 900 feet above sea level. Tires were well-worn stock Goodyears. NO launch control. Sport mode, competition mode engaged. I've had my best results holding about 2k-2200 rpm, with a quick, full clutch release and full throttle as soon as the rpms are pulled down from the clutch release, with a no-lift 6kish shift to second.

And full disclosure: I can't nail this consistently. I might turn right around on the next attempt and go 4.0+, or even 4.5 in the same conditions. The timing is very elusive. But the mostly full tank of fuel weight, plus the random dozens of pounds of extra everyday crap in the back seat and trunk make me believe I could better this by a tenth or two.
