anyone ever buy tires from walmart?

Wanted to share my experience, not sure if this is the norm.

Shopped around for new tires for wife's car and ended up getting Nexen Roadians from Walmart since they were the cheapest and didn't charge shipping to deliver to their stores.

So after 2 days, they say its at the store. Wife goes there and gets them installed.
I ask her how much did they charge to install and for the TPMS sensors?

She looks confused and went..what are you talking about? I didn't pay anything.

I went whhaatt?! free install and sensors?

Other than the carelessness towards wheels, they have decent prices.

Most anywhere that sells you tires will install them free (if you bring your own, Walmart is the cheapest place around, like $8 a tire I think, most places charge $15)

The TPMS is attached to the valve stem of your wheel itself, so if they just put on new tires they would have popped off the old ones and put the new tires on and your TPMS would have just stayed where they are.

People will no doubt knock walmart and say they worry about them mounting and balancing wheels correctly but I've had them do it a bunch. It is really simple, the machine tells them what to do. Not like other tire shops are asking for Masters degrees to learn to balance and mount haha.

SAMs club is the other option. They can order just about anything and give free road hazard.
