I totally believe it..

You all need to look at the big picture. Gm has done this before. . Mainly the first time.

Ford is releasing a brand new mustang and is releasing it for it in 2015.. if gm is smart and does not want the whole Zl-gt500 debacle again they wait.

I think you might be giving too much credit to yourself/Camaro5. GM had an Automatic ZL1 test car and for that matter the CTS-V has an automatic. It only made sense since they were using essentially the same power-train and drive-train.

If the GM Design Team needs some inspiration for the next 6th Gen, here is my own concept I made , what do you guys think ?

Inspired from the new 2014 Corvette with the new LEDs , new curved lines...
Don't quit your day job , I still hate the Viper looking headlights on the Corvette. I know they were designed by different parties at the same time but I don't know how anyone didn't say "maybe we should change the lights a tad after the Viper was unveiled..."

IMO...

...don't put much faith or stock into what the dealers tell you, not saying anything against the dealer to make an issue, but they know less than we do here.

...well, the Camaro won't get the axe. Maybe Chevy will wait until the Mustang comes out and do a half year introduction after that? Perhaps a back in your face thank you for the '13 GT 500 to the '12 ZL1 kind of thing? Who the F knows....but one thing is for sure, the Camaro will come to fruition as a Gen 6 model....whether it be in 2015, or 16.

I think they're further along in their design than we think. With how long it takes things to go through the system, I wouldn't be surprised if we find out that they started drawing sketches of the 6th gen in 2010. I would be really surprised if there aren't clay models out there already approved. Keep in mind, in 2005 the Camaro faithful were drooling over a PDF file which was publicly posted on Canada's trade website which named the Camaro as a future export. At that time, it was still a mystery because the concept hadn't been unveiled.

That said - I don't think anything has been "pushed back" per say, as it seems the timing has always been rumored to be what we're hearing.

Think about guys. Only the first Gen last less than 9 years. Why would they change to a different Gen if it's only been out 4 years? I bet it will be closer to 2016 or 2017.

There so much more going into a generational life span than heritage...or historical reference. Things are much different today than they were even 10 or 15 years ago. I think past generation lengths means the least out of all things considered.

It's been said multiple, the Camaro was late to the party. The disadvantage to it coming out late is that they now have to replace it earlier or else it will be dated (in the consumers eyes) when the next gen Mustang comes out. If Chevy had released the Camaro in 2006 or 2007 you wouldn't have this problem.

It's not that the Camaro is actually dated but if the Mustang has 2 generations before the Camaro replaces 1 it will be bad for sales since the car will go stale...

Back in 2009 my dealer knew NOTHING about the up and coming rebirth of the 5TH Gen. I, was actually keeping THEM in the loop as to what was coming and when. They wanted to know how I knew all this, and I refused to give them my sources, but in the end everything I told them was true. It helped me a lot when it came to ordering my Camaro!

I read somewhere (don't remember where, and don't quote me), but it usually takes about 3yrs for a new vehicle to go from design to pre-production.
