What do the you think of the Goodyear Run-flats?

They seem to perform ok but I took a highway trip today and these tires are pretty loud. I know run-flats are notorious for road noise but curious to get your thoughts.

I did a 600 mile road trip a couple weeks ago.
Never thought once about road noise.
Any noise to me I would attribute to the tires being wide summer performance tires. Not becuase they are run flats.

I like these tires.....expensive though.

Like: dry traction, cornering force.
Don't like: stopping distance, price.
So-so: wet traction, noise.

I don't like their feed back. Might just be me but I don't feel like they let me know when I'm getting close to the limit.

I hate the road noise that they make any time you go over a little bump. On bad roads the ride is horrible. I wish Chevrolet would have had a option to choose what type of tires your wanted. Getting the RS package you have no choice.

I like mine a lot, handle great, very good traction, yes they produce some noise but nothing terrible.

So far, I really have no complaints....I'm still in break-in mode, so I haven't really romped on it yet...but they corner well, and have handled good in monsoon rains we have been having. I really don't hear any tire noise since I took out the NPP fuse and Bluetooth Spotify!

It's all your point of reference, for high performance tires they are pretty quiet and compliant. Their grip is decent both wet and dry and overall they are a pretty good all around street performance tire IMHO. Just remember, as you dial up the performance you dial up the noise and harshness. If these are too loud or too stiff for you then a high performance all season tire like the Conti DWS 06 or Bridgestone RE970's are probably more likely to satisfy.

If you want a bit more performance with similar ride and noise the Michelin PSS might be a good choice. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....utoModClar=2SS

Thanks for the feedback. I just upgraded from a 1LE, which had the Goodyear F1 G2 Supercar track tires on it. They are obviously super sticky and harsh overall but I actually think they had less road noise then the new run flats. I haven't driven with run flats before so I was thinking that may be the cause for a lot of the noise. Most 1LE guys made the switch to the Super sports you listed and said they got a nicer ride and better mileage out of them. I will keep them in mind when the time comes.

Am I right in being concerned that any tire with a less stiff sidewall is going to allow more possibility of denting a wheel on a pothole? This is my first vehicle with such low sidewall tires, so I am trying to be careful.

I'll save my final thoughts for when I have a good point of reference. Right now, I have only ever driven this car on these tires. They are "meh"...not great but not bad either. Certainly fine for doing some spirited back roads driving and some light track work / autocross.

Will be getting some Michelin PSS when these wear out (hopefully they offer in the sizes I need).

For a stock run-flat tire on a performance car, they are pretty good.

Everyone was terrified that they wouldn't hook at the track due to the stiffer sidewall, but lots of guys are churning out good sub 2.0 60' times with these. I think I've seen a few 1.7 or 1.8 60' times.

They aren't too bad so far. My complaints are about the same with the noise and also I think the wet traction is pretty terrible. Here in Houston we've seen a lot of rain and I really have the baby the car on take off and turns or it will get loose on me fast. For that reason a lone I may be looking to replace them soon.
