Cam swap components
Does anyone know all the necessary components needed for a cam swap? How many LS7 lifters do I need? Do I need to purchase ARP head bolt or stud kit? Want to get all that I need when ordering but want to get the right stuff. A breakdown of all parts needed would be amazing. Also as a side note i will be doing the BTR stage 2 cam. Will I need a converter?

You should get a full cam package, go through Texas speed so you can see everything you need, you will need lifters, it’s up to you to decide on if you want to change all 16 as well as if you want ARP head bolts, you need gaskets for headers, Valley cover, heads, need a afm/DoD delete kit, push rods, I went with a trunion upgrade kit, also depends if you want +32 fuel lobe on your cam and if so you need a lash cap. Uhmmmm think that’s about it lol? Cost me a good ol 1500 for everything, tuner wants to charge $1600 sooo I’m doing the install tomorrow myself and will try and do a decent picture heavy write up for everyone

No yourstock cover is just fine, I meant valley cover gasket. That isn’t even necessary but I mean if your changing all gaskets then why not 😎

I just read the rest of your post, that’s crazy, probably his build? I mean if you go with a power adder I’d prbably get it? Not quite into spending over $300 for a Valley cover that says KATECH on it, especially for something that you’ll never see unless you take your manifold off, im sure their is a science to it and will get many people commenting their thoughts on it but yeah I didn’t get it.

Yes, I saw no difference in the LS and LT trunions. Same crap as before.

Plenty have run cam setups on stock oem LS rockers over the years with no issues. Especially low mileage units...However it is highly recommended to upgrade the Trunnion's for piece of mind. I would do a bushed Trunnion if you do it.
