Headers advice!

So I have a 2014 Camaro 2SS with SLP axle back exhaust and straight mid pipe. I have been calling around my area to price headers install. Last shop told me $425 with $500 for a tune which is what I was expecting but now they're telling me I would have to buy some extra stuff for the headers so they wouldn't burn up my wires? All together just for the install minus the price for headers, $1100. It surprises me because the first time I talked to him he didn't say anything about this. What do you guys think?

That's the ones that I wanted but here in Texas we have to have cats on the exhaust for inspection reasons.

Order their cats as well. I bought Texas Speed Headers and cats for $800. Install was straight forward and all clamps, O2 wire extensions and gaskets came in their kit.

For a quality set of headers you will run $800 for headers with cats minimum. Some vendors on here may be able to give you some deals beyond that price point, but that is a good reference point. The tune price sounds reasonable, but save yourself some money and gain some pride by installing them yourself.

You should need nothing extra. They can reuse stock gaskets and bolts.. I used my stock plug wires...nothing got in the way or burned up. Sounds like they may be trying to take advantage of you. Find another shop.
