5.0 running gt500 times with bolt ons
Was at a car show last night and kid was trying to tell me his 5.0 is right with gt500's. He only has bolt ons and tune and makes 432 rwhp. Is that possible. Ive raced a bunch of bolt on 5.0 (only at the track) and i pull away very easily most of the time shifting early.if you look on mustang forums most of them claiming they hit high 11's with bolt ons but none post there time slips.

I can see it being possible. My brother has a 13 GT and he's gone either 12.6 or 12.7 bone stock. Conditions would need to be nearly perfect though I think to go sub 12.
I don't know if he's gone back lately but he's running a slightly taller tire now so he's not on the limiter in 4th (performance pack so it's got 3.73 gears). I think with the slightly taller tires he could see 12.5 or solid 12.6's with good conditions.

BTW - belongs in this section and not here as this topic has nothing to do w/Gen5 Camaros. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=6 |

If he is automatic with a good set of drag radials, a converter, tune and bolt ons he should be in the 11's... If he is a manual I doubt it.

It's all in the driver ability, its possible...but junk the Ford thread to where it belongs- on the side of the road

Maybe if he had slicks.. I highly doubt it everyone lies when it comes to cars... People claiming they have way more hp than they do, or running way better times than they can.
The Gt500 has almost 600whp..

No idea yet but I'm already thinking I won't beat him lol he's been drag racing for about 6-7 years now and I haven't ever been to the track. If anything with practice I might get close but I think he will have the advantage. Plus he just got a tune so who knows how fast it'll be

bolt on/drag radials 5.0's known to be a high 11's car. not sure what the gt500 runs stock but I don't think much quicker than that... gt500 are top end monsters though
