Maybe you can tell us how you launch it.

I'm not trying to break any records. I'd settle for a consistent and elegant fast launch.

I have not had any wheel hop when launching. Back end slides out just a tad to the right at launch then hooks and just goes. Wondering if your rear alignment is way off from factory

On my list of things to do - get a track alignment.

Thought I think that will just make things worse, by adding more neg camber.

I doubt that alignment can cause what I was getting. It was very obvious that the rear tires were bouncing off the pavement and banging back down as they struggled for grip.

And all I was trying to do was exercise the e-diff locking a little bit.

I was expecting more negative vibration and sound issues but that wasn't the case. Definitely more communication on what the rear of the car is doing now.
As far as wheel hop I don't drag the car but did some pretty hard launches without any shop.
Did you go with solid bushings. Are they a pain to get into place. I did urethane on my last car.

Did you have the traction control "on"? ... sometimes the traction control will kick in when it senses wheel hop.

Awesome..

So the ride isn't much worse than stock? I imagine the MRC would take the edge off compared to the DSSV.

53F Ambient Temperature - Tires showing "Warm" pressures up 2PSI from cold/start pressures.

I just did the 1 click on the traction button, which I think disables TCS but keeps stability control on. Car is 2 weeks old and most of the time I have been traveling for work or snow/rain falling - been a miserable start of march.

I'll go play with everything off and see.

yeah mine wheel hops too. My 2016 2ss non mrc did really fine long burnouts. I found this out when they let me keep it for three weeks, after the trade in value was negotiated, While i waited for the 1LE to arrive.

Last edited by Hawk Fan; 03-09-2018 at 12:54 PM. Reason: i am wondering if said wheel hop has cause my codes it threw. See my thread if interested.

Do 2 clicks to enter PTM this then enables the e-diff and should eliminate wheel hop. By trial and error I found to enter PTM you have to be stopped and I also put e-brake on, not sure if that matters but I do it.

I have found my car launches completely different from default mode (Touring) and PTM "Sport 1 or 2". I don't know that I have wheel hop in default mode, but it certainly not smooth when launching and there is a lot of computer intervention.

I don't run my car on the strip or often get into stop light scraps here in Abu Dhabi. I have not yet tried "Race" mode simply because my rear tires are expensive. I also need something to stop my stupid.

I will say that I have tried dumping the clutch at various RPMs in the "Sport" modes and it always results in aggressive computer intervention that makes me look like a total rookie. I may not be a professional or have the ability to heel-toe, but I have been driving manuals since the beginning about 26 years ago and quite good at rowing them.

The best method i have found is a soft approach and feathering acceleration with the clutch and throttle, once the car gets moving you can put it on the mat and no-lift-shift into second. That is hard on the drive train so i use this sparingly.

I bought my car for the track (the curvy kind), if I wanted to street race with consistency I would have gotten a 2SS with an auto.
