interesting......... An ACDelco Specialty Ultraguard Oil Filter provides outstanding protection for demanding uses, such as racing, off-road, and heavy duty truck applications. With 98% multi-pass efficiency at 25-30 microns and burst-strength that is five times greater than normal engine oil operating pressures (as long as the normal engine oil operating pressure is not greater than 51psi), the ACDelco Specialty Ultraguard Oil Filter is the clear choice when performance matters.

Equipped with 98% multi-pass filtering efficiency at 25-30 microns for outstanding filtering capabilities
Designed to withstand five times greater force than most engine operating pressures, after oil reaches operating temperatures, for a longer life. Has a thermosetting adhesive seal to keep filtering media in place for dependable performance

I ended up using Mobil 1 5W 30 and the Mobil 1 m113A filter. What was weird was that it took a full 11 quarts to bring to the full line. Not sure why.

So, anyone else experience needing 11.5 quarts with oil and filter change? I had to use 11.5 quarts to bring it up to the full mark on the dip stick. Car was level, checked numerous times including after a quick warm up and 15 minute wait. Also checked it cold after sitting.

I've changed mine twice and 10 quarts has been enough each time. I thought I performed a thorough drain, but apparently you must be more thorough.

No idea. Manual says 10. I drained the oil with the car inclined on race ramps, but other than that, nothing out of the normal. Wonder if I have a short dipstick or something... Lol

I used two Mobil 1 5qt jugs and one and a half extra quarts.

Nothing spilled, no drips under the car, just weird.

You are supposed to wait around 45 minutes or so to check the oil level on the LT1 engines. GM has a TSB out about that back in 2016 due to over-filled engines after the 1st service.

Seems the LT1 engine takes longer to get the oil to drain back to the pan than previous generation engines.

I wonder how that works out with the quick lube, in and out in half an hour, but we gotta wait 45 minutes to check the level.

My dealer claims to have Dexos2 0W40 in stock (see my other thread). I will see if it is true when I bring my 1LE on Thursday for first oil change.
