Anybody tried a 95mm ZR1 throttle body?

Like the subject says. Has anyone tried a LT5 ZR1 95mm throttle body, either ported and non ported on a ZL1. Its a good bit larger than the stock 87mm one, and the largest OEM throttle body GM has every made.

If anybody has tried it, can you give some feedback? Dyno after install etc.

Is it a bolt on / plug & play?

With the thin adapter plate it is bolt on and plug n play. Not sure about the tune.

Does the adapter plate allow it to clear without porting the inlet?

I heard it might have a different bolt pattern. Hopefully someone can verify that. I had a Zo6 guy ask me that today on our Magnuson tech line as he is looking at one of our Heartbeats for his vet and wanted to know if we had an adapter. We don't

It does the lt1 guys have been using the ict adapter or massaging the bolt holes to make them fit. Found some pictures in this thread

I’m planning on using this TB on my upcoming LT4 blower install. I’d much rather run the ICT adapter for $50 then hack up the TB bolt holes. Have to think this would be a no brainer for a ZL1.

If we don't port the super charger snout as well when we install this we will not see the full benefits of the bigger TB.

is that correct?

I think you are correct. From what I've heard the stock LT4 blower snout opening is same diameter as the stock 87mm Throttle body. So it would hit a 87mm hole on the other side of the 95mm TB. Not ideal.

So this ported throttle body swap is really a waste unless you port the super charger.

how is it that so many people get the ported throttle bodies anyway, without modifying the super charger?

You can get a ported 87mm TB.
With a ported Weapon-X 87mm TB, a CAI from Weapon-X, and the NX lid, we saw right at 50hp on their Mustang dyno.
Now the blower and snout is ported and I have the Nick Williams 103mm TB on my X-850 build.

I agree, I have a 102 snout with my Maggie and the difference is huge so the 95mm is just about half way between the 87 and 102 so I would think some additional porting would benefit the change but that's just my opinion.

you should be able to at least match the opening to of the snout or as they call it gasket matching to run the larger tb.. other porting would be more difficult.
