2012 model changes, question

Okay, So I want to trade in my 2LT Automatic for a 2012 2SS manual. I hear that they are revamping the interior for the 2012.
So the question is, do I wait and order a 2012 in March or April of next year (only 5 to 6 months away) and hope for a lot of new goodies and design changes or do I save some coin and go with a 2011 2SS?

I know its not even 2011 yet, but there really is no difference from the 10's to the 11's with the exception of HUD. Not worth it to me. But it would be worth it if they are revamping the interior and going to have cosmetic changes.

With the interior changes and cosmetic changes, how much do you think they will raise the price?

I hope GM plays it smart with the price increases. Once they do that then the incentives are sure to follow raising the depreciation on the '10s and '11s.
Also you can usually do ordering on the next model year somewhere around March or April like the Op said, but they often don't have pricing yet.

What kind of interior revamp are you hoping for?

Right now the ONLY official word of the interior revamp is that 75-80% of the interior changes is taking place on the passenger side dash board. If you're expecting "a lot of new goodies and design changes" you're going to be disappointed.

If these small changes still interest you then wait till they are announced in March or April before you decide that way you'll still have time to order a 2011 if you want it.

There are pics around here somewhere of a yellow convertible with different tail lights that some speculated would be new for 2012. As for me, the current interior is fine; I think a big screen in the dash is going to ruin the essence of the Camaro. Call me a technophobe or a neanderthal--I've been called worse!

It feels weird that we are talking about design changes. It feels like this car was released yesterday and now design changes......

The amount of money you'll be eating from the trade will more than cover modding the interior of your current ride.

You know you can do that, right?

If it were me I would pick up a used 10SS and have fun with it, that is why these cars exist.

The only changes to the interior will be a new steering wheel and a different dash and perhaps gauges. Of course if your gonna wait for the 2012 why not wait for the 2014 and get a faster Camaro on a lighter platform with a completely different design. Or you could just get one now and enjoy it rather than dreaming about enjoying it. (or just keep enjoying the one you have! )

Keep in mind that if you wait until next year, there will probably be a new set of V8 engines ready to go for the following model year. Then of course there is the presumed platform change coming up around 2015. And they'll probably change a couple of things a year or two after that. And so on.

In short, there is always going to be something different and just a little bit better around the corner.

I am afraid that GM has no where to go with this car other than to ruin it. I love my 2010 1SS. I remember when they went to gen II. I always thought that it was a step back from the beauty of the 67 - 69 gen I's. I hope that they do not repeat this error again.

I sure wish they would give us a few spy shots of the new interior. Would like to get a idea of the direction they are going..
