It's been nice for over a month, getting into the 60's. But here's one from Early January.

-18F was the coldest displayed last week (although I think it was inaccurate since the official low at the nearby airport was -10F). It has indeed been miserably cold.

I think after zero you really can't tell the difference, lol.
That was 5 miles from my house, it just kept going down as I drove to there. Got to the Detroit area and it was a balmy -2 degrees!

-26F just north of Detroit this morning. Pretty much all the schools were closed so the drive in was real nice... the two block walk from my car to the building, not so much. Plus, my red car is essentially white now from the combination of salt plus not being able to get it washed because it's been so cold.

And you can definitely tell the difference. -26F was pretty cold this morning, but I'll never forget the -50F windchill in Minneapolis the last time I was there. -26F is frost bite in about 15 minutes. -50F felt like immediate frostbite.

When I was a kid, it used to get so cold where I lived that words would freeze, right in midair. Then, when it warmed up in the springtime, you shoulda HEARD the racket.
