Corvette shift knob on 13+ camaro?
Looking at pictures the shift knob looks very similar from a 2014 Corvette to a 2013+ manual shift knob on the camaro. can anyone verify if they are interchangeable?
judging by pictures they have the same set up, with shift knob facing the opposite direction. (the hole is on the left side on vettes vs right side on camaros?) so i should just be able to drill a hole into the corvette shift knob for the retainer screw. if anyone's done this or tried please chime in Last edited by TommyTheCat; 05-20-2020 at 06:21 PM. |

They have different threads, our cars run a 3/8”-16 and the corvette run a 9/16”-18

I'm not sure which knob you're looking at but I thought they always came with the pattern printed on them. That being said, I'm pretty sure they are all 7 speeds, so the "R" will be in different location and have extra gear. Don't know if that bothers you or not. Other than that, I know that our knob doesn't have threads, just that little set screw

A. The 2014 Vette is a 7-speed manual. Why would you want that on a 6 speed Camaro (unless you are somehow going to cover up the 7-speed shift pattern)?
B. The shift knob is nothing like a 5th Gen Camaro's. The C7 Vette has two "ears" that protrude out of the knob and slide into two grooves on the shaft (the C7 knob is NOT threaded). I swapped out the shifters on both my 5th Gen and my C7. Trust me, they are nothing alike.

i wouldn't want the OE corvette shift knob, but they seem to have more options without requiring an adapter and they seem to be the same but with the retainer screw on opposite ends. which i looked and my shifter actually has a spot to put a retainer screw on either side so it should fit, if i can find one that i like and doesn't show the 7 speed selection on it. unless the thickness is different, but it doesn't look like it. |
