1lt V6 RS or base 2lt 2.0t
Hey guys,
I dont know what to get a 1lt RS, technology package, braking and cooling package and npp exhaust or a base 2lt so no RS...? The first choice would be more a performance machine whereas the second would be more a "luxurious" coupe. What do you guys think performance or luxuries? Its not an easy decision because I plan on keeping the car for a long time, my fear is that I might miss having the luxuries after a while but on the other hand Id like to have the performance and that nice sounding npp exhaust. Thanks |

I'm in the same boat CAPTAIN.
But will wait for the dust to clear and any bugs worked out. Time is on my side, as I don't want a new car with winter coming on. The 2.0T won't be for sale until early 2016. |

True I also will be waiting till after the winter as we get brutal winters here in Canada and also by that time there might be incentives on the car such as 0% intrest

You can probably skip the braking & cooling package. I doubt you'll ever need its extra capability.
As for everything else ... its your car, you know your priorities and preferences.

I think I'll go with 1lt and rs package cause I just don't care about leather in a car like Camaro. Also, the 2lt didn't make so much of a difference except for the leather, it actually just enables you to add more options like interior lighting and stuff.. So if you are comparing a base 2lt and 1lt with rs pack, I will say go for the latter

1LT RS all the way. Everything we're reading about the new V6 is making it out to be an outstanding motor. I guess you could wait till there's a turbo 4 available to test drive.

I would definitely go with the 1LT RS with NPP over the 2LT base, like already stated the 2LT doesnt chang a hole lot other than the seats and speakers from the 1LT unles your going for some of the other lighting and convenience package thats not available for the 1LT. My 5th gen was a 1LT RS and it was a great car, I never had any complaints about the interior, took vacations w/ 12+ hr drives every year. I went with the 2LT this time only because I could afford a bit extra this time around, but on a budget I'd go 1LT RS NPP every time and be completely satisfied.

I will bet you the turbo 4 feels stronger than the V6
Direct injection turbos have a a very flat torque band and the I-4T has a 100 lbs less weight to carry. Just wait till the after market gets a hold of this... You will be seeing 315 hp / 340 ftlb of torque from just the ECU tune wicking up the boost. 2007 GTI STOCK 200 hp / 210 tq ---> 245 hp/ 275 tq. ( 2.0 litre turbo) I hope GM realizes they could really do week with import crowd if they make a handling package for this car ...

I know that there is a significant weight difference but, the turbo 4 camaro is the car that the Subaru BRZ should have been. I would have bought a BRZ a couple years back if they had simply stuffed a wrx engine in there. I'm kind of glad that they didn't though because I'm going to like this camaro far more. Less boy racer image IMHO. I don't plan to modify and I'm done with turbo engines. So, for my wants and needs the V6 was the easy decision. It should be sufficiently powerful, fun to drive, and fast enough for the street.
