Last summer was the peak of the inflated used car prices. They dropped from August-January but now for some reason they are rising again at a fastish rate. When all this nonsense started I really thought by mid 2023 - early 2024 we’d be back to normal but that doesn’t look like it’s happening anymore.

Not gonna answer directly, but here in New England, a Camaro cannot be your only means of transportation.
So...50 years after I wanted one, I finally bought a new 2010 for cash. By that time, my kids were out of college and debt-free. I would never consider financing a toy like this. |

At the height of the Covid used car market craze the best offer I got was from Vroom for just over $36k. I never took it because it would cost that much more to replace it with something different. All though the cash profit would have been nice. I don't need the money and I'm glad I never dumped it.

I must say your taste in Camaros is exquisite , the 2018 in hyper blue metallic with the A10 is the second best possible ZL1 choice, bested only by garnet red tintcoat I'd only change a precious few things over to post-refresh parts if I could, the new 3.0 infotainment and better screens are nice perks for example. Just shooting the s**t though, of course I know it's impossible to mix and match. I still don't like alcantara or the "cut open" style ZL1 hood.

garnet red tintcoat is a beautiful color. Agreed... I don't like the alcantara. I could "deal" with it on the seats, but not on the wheel and shift nob for sure. If I ever got a ZL1 I would have to have an interior shop address that for me. I just never understood why GM did not give you the option to select leather if you built to order your ZL1. The leather SS Interior is so much nicer. alcanara is not a premium material over the SS leather. Just ordered the front splitter... |

Considering income vs camaro-cost seems sort of intentionally one-dimensional and myopic, but whatever. 1SS was $41k OTD. Income was unemployment-compensation of $300 per week.
Somehow I end up employment-challenged when a correct vehicle shows up in transit or red-tagged at a remote dealership near the canadian border. On bright side, that means I have pllllllllennnnnnnnnnnty of time to close the deal and get the exactly right car. I took delivery of my 1989 IRAQ-Z M5 with dual-cats while unemployed, after ordering it with a $10 deposit. (The salesman refused to take my last $20 as the deposit, that's why $10). |
