Day Time Running Light

I just installed my new halo headlights but where I took them to get installed, they told me the halos couldn't be connected as my daytime running light so they connecte them to my parking light. Is this true?

I think someone came up with a harness, but i went with the parking light hookup as well and have been happy with it so far...just switch over to parking lights when ya want to use 'em for DRLs...

If I left it on the parking light will I have to turn off everytime I turn the car off or will they turn off with the car?
