Adding nav
Got a 2023 2SS off a dealers lot. No nav, but dealer says they can add it for $150.
Just called another dealer near my home & they say it can't be added. Can this upgrade be done & if so, is it by changing the head unit or by adding a card & programming the system? Please - no "why add nav" comments/questions. |

There definitely is a navigation upgrade package, I only found this link where it's pretty expensive, but you can have the dealer confirm it's the same thing: https://infotainment.com/shop/interi...radio-upgrade/
By the way, a similar upgrade was not offered from model years 2016 to 2018, so I think the other dealer simply didn't have up to date information.

the older stuff had two different hmi's where the standard non nav hmi didn't have gps hardware on top of not having the firmware for it. so a cheap software flash wasn't an option. you have to jump thru a bunch of hoops even if you could find a dealer willing to try.
older stuff had to go the gen5diy route if they wanted nav hmi. New stuff probably is just one part and the only difference is programming. |

GM released an SD card that was supposed to add NAV to vehicles that didn't have it. Below is a link to a web article about it with the GM part number. I don't know if it is still available or compatible with your car and infotainment system. Maybe this is an option for you.
