The 1LE is a awesome well balanced Camaro SS. I almost bought one and then I drove the ZL1 and I was hooked! I agree it has been rare up to this point. It just depends on how many sell in the coming years to determine how rare it will be. Before I bought my ZL1 I had my eyes on a white 1LE it was 47k and when a dealer in my area offered the vert ZL1 to me for 57k It was a done deal. Congrats to all of the 1LE owners that is one bad @ss Camaro!

I had a one of one 2001 White Firehawk 1LE. It was the only Firehawk built exactly like mine. (when taking into account stupid crap like paint color and transmission) I think there were a total of 30 1LEs built that year. If you want super rare try and find a third gen 1LE. Rarity by itself doesn't necessarily mean anything. There also has to be desirability. Those stupid convertible SUV's nissan makes are incredibly rare. Because nobody wants them.

I would follow up by saying that the 5th Gen camaro 1LE's will probably be much more desirable than the third and fourth gens and I believe that is for one reason...Chevy got smart and made the car distinguishable from the standard cars by doing the blackouts and the wheel changes. Third and Fourth gen 1LEs were only distinguishable by the RPO. Society as a whole are much more intrigued by shiny things they can point to and show their friends. It's just not that exciting to drop the back seat of a 4th gen 1LE and say "look at my Koni adjustable shocks" or get under the car and say look at my urethane bushings and .2mm bigger sway bar

LOL Yeah the 1LE's in the 3rd and 4th gens were kinda lame hardly anyone knew about them. I feel Chevy has done a much better job with the 5th gens. The white 14 1LE's are my favorite!!

I will drive any value this "rare" car may have away. Lets face it, to the rest of the world its just a Camaro. Any extra value the 1LE package may have in years to come will be just that... extra.
If anyone wants a gently used RARE 2013 Camaro 2SS/RS 1LE you can have mine for the low investment of $60,000. |

Case in point the 63 Corvette split window, no one wanted one because it was hard to see out of and people didn't care for the look. This led to Chevy removing the split window in 64. Now skip a head and people would give there first born for one.

I wouldn't say lame, they just lacked a visual presence. The third gen 1LEs are almost like 5th Gen z28. They lacked power amenities and I believe a/c was an option. Having owned a fourth gen without and a fourth gen with, I can say the difference in driving feel was night and day. The car was so planted albeit incredibly stiff. So stiff that the rear view mirror shook violently over anything but the smoothest of roads. Indistinguishable from other fourth gens. Yes. Lame. No way
