We use tap water and store bought ice bags. Every so often, you just run a little bleach in there to kill the bacteria. We go thru 5-8 bags of ice every time out. That's alot of ice to be making with distilled water.

Think ill just make a mold for ice as big as the opening of the box and hard freeze the pellet. The small pellet that you buy in bags ice melts to quick. I can bleach it time to time. I do that to my well were i live.

reason they use the distiulled water has something to do with the rusting out the intercooler on the manifold...been a long time ...i have a custom made aluminum tank with a large lid...was gonna cut out center section of bumper and replace it with this tank...it was made to fit in between the frame horns and has 25 ft of 3/8 copper lines running thru it and will hold 1 1/2 gallon ice and water,,, the water lines running thru the he run thru this tank also and is cooled by ice and water...the water wetter running thru the he -sc-intercooler are also ri=unning thru this tank and you never have to change the liquid

Ice chest!!! FTW
3 years with regular old tap water ice. Took the blower off over the winter and it looked brand new. I add 2/3 bags, I think 5lb bags, before each pass. Works like a champ. I'd like to try the chiller but I run without the AC belt on. When the car does hit the limiter the AC can pop off and if it ever got tangled that wouldn't be good. |

here are 2 pics, first in close up of the he/sc lines that ru8n thru the ice tank...2nd pic is the tank, which has the in and out barbs for the water wetter, ice goes into the tank lid and super cools the fluid flowing thru the tank, and has a quik drain on bottom of tank...never have to worry about corroding or getting impurities into your supercharger cooling system..

[QUOTE=Supercharged SS;6599770]That thing looks sweet!! Must be nice to have money!!
Have you tried it yet to see if it works or are you to busy playing play station in the back seat?![/QUOTE we were about to hook it up, but spent more $$$ and ran a dual stacked whipple he and that dropped my iats by 60f...was running 200f back to back runs at 18lbs boost...after installing the dual he we dropped to 140f on back to back runs...and this is on a loaded dyno which can really heat the sc up as the dyno pulls are approx 20 seconds long to get the ve tables mapped..jamie, being a little bit in the medical knowlede, i have a small ice chest that runs fluid thru it to a back pack that i sit on my knee, not sure what this thing is actually called , but it freezes the crap out of my knee...this was where i got the idea...looks like a 6 pack plastic cooler..so the ice only cools the liquid flowing thru the tank-then the he and then the sc..sample pic below to get the idea, warm water in and cold water exits..

AI Super chiller and never hassle with any mess again....and no ice can cool as low and as efficient. Ice also adds a ton of weight. No problem with stock AC and Competition Mode stops condensation leaking on track. |
