Buying a salt belt car

So I'm looking at a 5th gen from the salt belt. It has under 15k, so it appears to have been stored a bunch, but you never know if salt residue was on the roads when the car was driven. I'm nowhere near anywhere that gets snow/salt so I'm not familiar with what to look for or what damage to look out for.

These photos look like it's pretty much salt free but there is some rust in the third pic. Anyone want to take a look who might know more about what to look for than me? Thanks in advance.

Living in Indiana I have been under my share of salt driven vehicles and this one looks really good. Even the rubber boots and rubber suspension parts don't appear to be showing any signs of deterioration. I want not hesitate buying the vehicle if it is what you want. Looks very clean to me.

In PA, we are exposed to lots of salted roads. That undercarriage looks great to me.

Looks fine to me. The key area to look is on the pinch weld along the rocker panel and inside the wheel wells. Any rust there and I’m walking away.

The funny thing about Camaros (just like boats) in Michigan is that it’s really feast or famine. Either they don’t get used much, especially with winter, so they’re in great shape with low miles (hours for boats) or they’re trashed due to the harsh winters.

That looks cleaner than some California, Nevada, and Arizona cars around here.
If you're concerned, just take it to a local coin-op car wash place and use the pressure sprayer to rinse down the undercarriage good.

That looks almost brand new. You have nothing to worry about with that car.

Based on appearance and mileage, I would say that this car was a hobby car for someone and not used as transportation, such as work or stores. A car driven in Ohio during winter wouldn't look that good.

Looks stored to me.
The rear fenders will go on these cars roughy where they gooped the inner and outer together. Did hard time (30ish years total) in the Ohio rust belt before I gained sanity and fled forever.

Man that Camaro looks as clean as my well kept Florida Camaro!! lol. I woldn't hesitate to buy it. And that tiny rust you see in the 3rd pic, that's gonna happen when the paint gets scraped off the bottom like that. No worries, almost looks like they said above, not driven very much at all, and well kept..
