Keep in mind that when I refer to the shorter belt I am referring to the shorter of the two belts being considered for use with the new, larger 9.17" pulley. The factory belt is shorter than either the 080845 or the 080842 which are both long by comparison. The stock pulley is only 7.99" diameter.

Ive got 4500 miles on my car with the 9.17 ring and 08045Hd belt with zero issues. The tensior was probably maxed out. you be shocked to see how much that thing moves under the hood at WOT

Good info. One of my anti-belt slip tactics has always been to fit the shortest possible belt that I can. This has worked great with both Gates HD belts and the Goodyear (now Continental) Gatorback belts. These belts usually stretch a bit after some use, though I think the added stiffness of the RPM belt makes this not such a great idea.

I’ll be sure to check things closely when I do my pulley. I have a few belts, but I can’t remember the sizes. After what happened to you, I’ll be more cautious.

The ATI 15% pulley does not line up correctly, or it did not work on my car. Been there, done that, my belt kept walking off of the front of the lower pulley by one rib and would hang off of the front of the pulley. Put Lingenfelter 18% on and have not had an issue since in 7,500 miles, the ATI would walk off in one pull. Maybe it was a belt issue, but I know I have not had an issue since with the Lingenfelter lower.
