Bring back the supercharger whine!!!

Does anyone know how to get the whine? I see nitrous express has a new lid that would do it, but I would like to keep the factory look. Any one deal with this?

What mode are you driving in? I hear more of the supercharger whine in tour mode than I do in sport. The sound of the exhaust in sport seems to mask the whine of the supercharger.

I watched a video of nitrous express showing off the new lid, and they statues that there is a piece of rubber in the existing lid that quiets down the supercharger. Just looking to see if someone has ever removed it or not.

I bet there is some sort of silencer being used to keep the whine down, our Audi SQ5 had 2 different pieces on the intake tract to keep the noise down. one of them was a full on muffler on the intake tube right before it entered the intake plenum.

Since this is a smaller SC and spins faster than the 5G ZL1, I would think the pitch would be higher. I do know that increasing the boost will claps the stock rubber intake tube since that is on the suction side. So definitely need a CAI if changing the pullies.

A Roto-Fab CAI will increase that whine as well.

My Maggie does not make any noise even with the ROTOFAB. It sucks but its true. My G8 with the Maggie didn't make much noise till I add the overdriven cog drive and then it sounded like my old girl friend, It was just bitchin, my new one makes a bunch of power and not a bunch of noise. Although I wish it did.

Mine whines pretty good, at least from inside the car. I've been on the phone and had people ask what the whining noise was. Don't know about these newer style superchargers, but on my 8-71, the whine comes from the belt, not the rotors or the intake.

My buddy's GT500 had a few baffles in the intake tubing that all but eliminated the SC whine. Taking those out produced the results you're looking for. I haven't seen the Zl1 intake to know if that applies here or not.

Or maybe you're just not driving hard/fast enough?
