I would go Z06 or above. Otherwise stay with the Camaro and add few extra horses.

Corvette, hands down. The Z06 is a hardtop, so I'd go with the Coupe (personal taste requires my sports car to have an open-air top).

OP... If you can swing $60+ grand, Grand Sport all the way. If not... It's a toss up. I've had both, base C6 with manual and currently have a modded SS. As my car is now, the performance is about what a stick base STOCK Corvette is. The Camaro has pros over the vette with room, fit/finish, style... The Corvette has pros over the Camaro... speed, acceleration, handling...

Camaro = muscle car
Corvette = sports car

Two different breeds. You will enjoy both.

And.... That's not necessarily a GOOD thing. It's a nice car sure but when I had that EXACT car (minus the wheels) people were usually assholes about it and made snide remarks. Maybe that's because I was 30 with a new corvette and they were pissed they were 50 and driving a camry...

If you're talking about a base model Corvette, I did the math on it once and the least expensive Corvette you can buy new vs. the least expensive Camaro you can get with a V8 will save you approximately $18,000 if you buy the Camaro and you only get 4 less HP...that's it.

Is it worth an extra $18,000 for 4 horsepower if your just looking for power?

Camaro SS = 426hp
Corvette = 430hp (for base model)

Having said that if you want a Corvette then a Camaro won't cut it, but if your a Dollars to Horsepower guy...the Camaro...all the way!

They're two totally different animals. It all depends on what you're looking for. The corvette performance wise is way better than a camaro. (even the bases ones, contrary to popular believe around here) They are much lighter with the same power. PQ isn't telling you the whole story. His camaro is highly modded up so it's not a far comparison. If Bonnie did the same modds to her vette, she would let him sit.

If you want the retro look with the ability to haul more stuff and people with good performance then go with the Camaro.

LOL, I can relate to that! I had a magnetic red when I was 25 and that black one when I was 27. Peopler are gonna hate when you have nice things no matter what.

Well that's what I meant. I said get the Camaro if you're going to mod it really good. But go Vette if you go Z06.

By really good I mean like mine. My car without these donk wheels will not give Bonnie a chance straight line. And A Pedderized Camaro is as good or better cornering than a base Vette. While they FEEL different in the turns, I'd still put my car right there with hers in the turns.

Now strictly going on FEEL, I'd give Bonnies car the edge cornering. While I've found my car can handle it just as well, hers you can just 'feel' the car more with hers. Weight obviously has something to do with it. But I'm not a pro driver by any stretch. I'm not even that good. But I do drive the piss out of both of them.

But like I said, a well moded Camaro is going to beat a base Vette all day long. So go Z06 or go well moded Camaro. Stock base model Vette vs Stock SS is no comparison. The Vette easily.

Suspension is the big key here. I REALLY need to ditch these donks.

You do need to doth the donks bro! But the corners are insanely different between the maro and vette, I've never driven a car with pedders though, but my favorite ~90 deg turn I took in an SS and V6 Camaro and my Z06: V6 had a 36 mph no drama turn in, SS had a 35-6 mph no drama turn in due to it's a tad heavier, the speedo was unsteady when I looked up half in the turn. The vette had no drama what so ever at 43mph and that's as far as I've taken it, 37mph in the Camaro tires started to whine V6&V8 but... That's the fun thing!
