Went to other side a few years, want to come back
Is the Zl1 1le daily drivable, i love the look of this car but dont want to get something im not going to be able to drive in the winter, etc. I can switch rims and tires without a problem. At this point im between 2019 ZlE and 18 CTS V. I know these are two totally different cars, but if i stay 2 door im getting the car i want and the V is pretty much the only 4 door v8 these days, other than a cat which i dont want at all.

Depends on the roads in your area. But switching tires to PS4S is a big help for daily driving.
Good luck in your search! Best Regards, Dave

How many times a year are you going to track it?

The CTS-V is a performer but if you really want a ZLE then get one! Whatever makes you happy because you will be the one paying for and driving the car. In my opinion the Camaro looks better than the Cadillac and is a 2 door coupe which is what you said you prefer. Come on back to the Camaro.

The car is for sure dailyable on the right tires. I see people daily them all the time. It certainly won't be as comfortable as a normal ZL1, nor as fast in a straight line. However, as far as looks and tracking goes it is one of the best.

I’d say my ‘19 ZLE is daily drivable. Just be aware that it has a track suspension, so you will feel every bump. It’s not a smooth ride and god forbid you hit a good sized pot hole! LOL!
But I love mine! Best looking Camaro out there IMO... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

I love the drive of my ZLE but I'm not sure about driving it in the rain and snow, for sure a tire change but even with that really depends on how far you travel. Even with the PS4S tires at stock size the rain can be a issue let alone snow. Here in Florida I would say yes all day long but in the cold I'm not really sure.

There are alot of threads on this forum about this.
I dont daily mine, its too rough for the beat up roads where I live. im sure there are plenty out there by now - go test drive one. make sure you take it on the freeway and drive it down some crappy roads so you can get the full experience. for some its acceptable, others its not.

I do not drive the Camaro in the winter, because I'm planning to keep her long term and will not expose the body to the insane amounts of salt and brine up here in the northeast. If I were you and had room in the garage/driveway, I'd just buy a crappy extra winter beater for what a second set of quality wheels and winter tires would cost for the Z.
Since I never drove a ZL1 1LE, I have no comment on the ride, but the PS4S tires are a game changer in the rain, they are basically "normal" high performance tires that work fine down to about 40-45 degrees and grip well in the wet, they do not tend to hydroplane easily, unlike the stock Goodyears that are treacherous. Of course if someone's stupid with the throttle in a downpour, they will have problems in a RWD car.

ZLE daily driver... no, weekend driver... yes.
Maybe a regular ZL1? Though the CTSV is the clear cut choice for what you are looking for.

If it's the looks you want I'd get the regular Z and then add the aero items and wheels. Keep mag ride and you'll have a great daily driver. The A10 trans is amazing in the Z as well. |

With the A10 the ZLE can be a daily, but only somewhere like CA or FL and not for a place with bad winters and roads.
You might look at it this way... if money was no object and you could afford any Porsche, would you daily drive a GT3 or get a 911S for that? That being said I’d be tempted to daily my ZLE, I love this car, but commuting in LA on 405 freeway with the M6 in heavy traffic would kind of suck. And I like to keep the miles low. |
