If I was a balla like yourself and was highly modified, I MIGHT change my oil more often but being stock with headers, there's really no need. Add to that, my car rarely gets raced so I think i'm good. It doesn't make sense that oil changes were 3-5k miles with old ass dino oil but now that we have high quality synthetic oil, that is MILES better, we still stick to the old addage of 3-5k miles.

Valvoline SynPower every 5K. It's worked on all of my cars since the 90's and when I get around to doing internal mods they look new inside.

Check your oil life monitor. I know a lot of people refuse to trust it but it will at least give you an idea of how much life is left.

Well I use Mobil 1 synthetic oil & Mobil 1 filter in 3 of my 4 vehicles. They all use same grade oil & same filter. The 92 SS454 silverado I use Mobil I oil & Filter. I like Mobil 1 it's up to the individual>And none of my vehicles burn oil. Or leak it either.

I, change my oil at 3k no mater what. While the viscosity (spelling?) Is still good. The oil will
Still get dirty from the detergent or atleast look like it. And I so like looking at that dip stick
and trying to find the oil level its so clean! But thats just me.

I hate to break the news to you, but had you had any other oil in there the reading would have been the same. The OLM has no idea what oil is in there and the caculation is NOT based on brand or grade, it's based on driving patterns and conditions.

You could have had conventional oil in the and the OLM whould have read the same.

I changed mine 1 time since Dec 2009 but I still only have 5,300 miles on the Camaro.
I changed it at around 4k.
