Camaro 1le curb rash

I couldn't find a su forum for this so bare with me. I got curb rash on my 1le wheel last night by clipping a curb. It's very minor but I try my hardest to perfect and keep everything I own in pristine condition. I am wondering if anyone in Arizona has had any luck with ALLOY WHEEL REPAIR based in Tempe. For others on here, should I buy a new wheel or go through the dealership? any recommendations I am taking right now please. I will pay to have it perfect. Thanks guys.

Similar thing happened with me right after I bought my ZL1, and I felt like a complete idiot but it happens.

If you google wheel repair places near you, you can find a decent shop that will do it for cheap.

I got mine fixed for $125 and it looks brand new, no matter how hard you look your not going to find were it was fixed.

Has anyone near had luck with alloy wheel repair? They're wondering to paint the wheel the same color or powder coat the wheel the same color...?

Hit it with a Sharpie until it gets repaired, helps take the sting out of it.

Hardly. It's the 800lb elephant in the garage. The Sharpie helps others not see it. The OP won't be fooled. Nor comforted. I can relate to the "disease." Hope you find a great repair shop, bro.

Powdercoat can fade and get milky due to UV exposure. Also, with powdercoating, it would be harder to touch up if you scrape it again. When the newness wears off and you're willing to accept a slightly less than perfect repair that is. Trust me, that will happen when you get that first rock chip, scratch or heaven forbid a nice dent on it.

I would try getting it painted instead. However, if the other wheels are still pristine, I'd just try to find a mint OEM painted wheel. I'm sure I am more OCD than you and that would be the only way I would be totally satisfied if I scraped one of my wheels. Been there and done that with the powdercoating and repainting jazz on other vehicles and it's never as good as the original OEM finish.

I had one worse than that. Some careful work with a sanding and polishing wheel on my Dremel smoothed it out. Then touched up with a couple layers of this...

After dry I used some good polishing compound and wax. You cannot see it unless you absolutely know it is there.

I heard the zl1 wheels paint is really thin anyways. Might take the time to have them all painted.

Don't use a Sharpie, it will turn purple. Check out Dent Wizard, they have a location in Phoenix.

Just be glad they're painted and not brushed aluminum. Those are a pain to blend correctly.

A wheel repair place can fix it as others have said, what gets expensive is the powder coating, then having the tire remounted, I would have to guess you are looking at $300-$400 when all done, good luck
