I feel GREAT about making the switch. I bought a Camaro as a toy - to have fun in - and the SS is definitely more fun than the LT I traded (though that was great car too). What I notice most is (other than the grin factor) is it costs more to operate (gas, oil, etc), but that is not a concern to me. Summary: if its main purpose was to be a daily driver with a significant commute, I'd have kept the 1LT.

I test drove a V6 ... then test drove a V8 .... end of story. 2012 2SS/RS all the way! Go for it! Add some headers/exhaust and you are good to go!

Your decision except
Money issues are your decision.
Whether the niceties you may not be able to afford when you switch to SS again your decision. That aside I did it and wow, no comparison. Also performance mods pay off more with SS. One consideration. Drive a 1LE. you may be willing after that drive go with a 1SS no RS 1LE. The 1LE is that good. Just saying. I went from a fully loaded 2lt RS with mods like heritage grill, blade spoiler my own added lighted door sills and interior lighting to a 2SS no Rs 1LE and i haven't stopped grinning since. Jim |

If my wallet would let me I'd do it.
I guess I should say if there weren't other items I had to do first - like a complete gunite pool rehab that's about the cost of a 2012 SS. Life gets in the way sometimes :( |

I would love to upgrade to an SS or dream come true ZL1, but unfortunately can't afford the monthly payments.

Upgrading to an SS from an LT is a great decision if you can afford it.

If you can afford to make the switch, go for it! Just be sure to get all the options you want so you don't look back again and wish you went a different route.
Don't settle for less than exactly what you want! Best regards, Tyler 888-308-6007 |

The V6 is nice, but the TQ of the V8 is awesome, and well worth the upgrade, IMO. You can mod the crap out of a V6 to get it close to or maybe a little better than a stock SS, but you can mod the crap out of the SS and turn it into a beastlier beast than it already is.
I went from a 1LT to a 2SS, and would do it again in a heartbeat.
