Yep. Mindz hit the nail on the head. Well atleast it isnt just me. If I had another inch back I would be okay, but man if you ever want to relax or nap in the car.. good luck.

Maybe this is worth a try.....use the manual release lever and see if goes back any farther....I think if you set the seatback with the lever up/forward the power lever will only go so far back.....Good luck.
I know when I first tried to adjust it, I thought "What the hell????"...But I was able to get comfortable...Try taking it back manually as far as possible first, and/or use the power button to lower/tilt...You might gain a little more.... |

Here's a pic from the auto-show thread....Far from fully reclined, but it looks like a decent angle far from being straight up....

You got me worried now. Hope someone can take pics of a leather and cloth seat reclined.

I sat in 2 different 2016 Camaro 2SS's today and decided to recline the seats since I remembered this thread. Unfortunately, the range of motion is limited and they only recline backwards about 25 degrees. Tested it out in both cars. It doesn't bother me as I'm not much of a recliner, but I can see how that can be an issue for other people.

They don't offer lumbar support even as an option. That's a mistake. And now reclining isn't even that good, they should of just took the gt seats from the stingray and put them in the camaro.

I am not having an issues with this. Maybe that's why there is a massive QC hold or rather was?

I ran into this problem on a 2015 SS about two months ago. The seat would not recline and yes, I recline it back a ways since I'm 6' plus.

Yep, I sat in a '16 SS at Hendricks Chevy in Cary, NC and, sure enough, I couldn't get the seat to recline back to an angle I would be comfortable with. It wasn't close. Didn't think about trying a reset of sorts by playing with the manual release to get to the rear seat... Shouldn't have to.
I can deal with the small back seats and the tiny trunk opening, as long as my big soft bag squeezes through. But the failure to recline would definitely be a deal breaker for me... And for my girlfriend who wants to recline and nap on the way to the mountain roads I like to drive in western North Carolina. Maybe the Recaros that should be available at some point will solve this problem for me, or perhaps this is the quality hold problem being fixed. Anyway... I haz to recline, or I haz to decline! |

I tried one out yesterday. Even though it reclined only so far. It was more than enough. I'm 6'4".

I understand... I'm "only" 6'1" but I recline more than average, for sure.
This is the only car I can remember sitting in, or driving, where I couldn't recline the setback far enough to be comfy... Except for the cars where the structure of the car didn't allow me to recline as far as I like... For instance, Porsche Cayman, Honda S 2000, Dodge Viper, Miata. C7 Corvette and 911 seat backs recline far enough... So, I'm hoping Recaros or a different seat option comes along. |
