We know what it is called. They wouldn't have to do it if they did the right thing in the first place. Now they are out a new motor and have a bad rep.

Some stock LS3's dyno'd at over 400 hp to the wheels.
It's easy to make any LS3 dyno 400whp, just use 3rd gear.

Let me add, as a race engine builder of 25 years. There is no way, NO WAY I would pop a head off, see that kind of damage and replace the valves and let it go. A total tear down and inspection of every piston, rod, valve, bearing, valve guide, oil pump etc. Piston to valve contact is never light damage. They get whacked but good. Common thing is to have the piston skirts bent from the hit. The valve hits the piston off center and the piston skews in the bore. You can't see that unless you pull the piston and measure the skirt diameter.

My buddy who owns a shop will do a good visual, and if it all looks good then tell the customer that a valve job/replacement will fix it up but there is no guarantee how long it may last, that the proper way is to do a rebuild, then leave it up to them to decide. This is on older high mile low performance 4 bangers and such. And this is not because of his mistake. And this is not on a brand new warranty high performance car.

Nice Job Nutro. Clearly you made good choices on handling this. Where i felt you were immature, you were doing what was necessary to get the outcome you wanted. I apologize for that and congrats on the new engine.

Flatbed dropped the car and the new motor off at Henna Chevrolet this morning. I spoke to the tech there that they assigned it to. Dude is a smart guy and has been working on LS based motors for a while. He said he'll make sure It is all done correctly and he'll take care of the car.

The "Other" dealer threw fender covers all over the front of the car it still managed to lightly scratch the front bumper.

Henna Chevrolet? - The tech that is going to work on the car is going to put that white adhesive plastic wrap all over the front of the car and the fenders as well.
