the 5th Gen will be second only to 1st Gen in popularity as time goes by. Just a beautiful car. I don't know that they will ever bring big money, but they will be popular.

According to Wikipedia, GM sold 220,906 Camaros in 1967 and it sold 81,299 units in 2010. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_Camaro
No one is going to argue that the 1967 is not a classic, and its sales dwarf those of the 2010 model. I doubt buyers in 1967 were thinking that their cars were going to be collectibles 50 years into the future. Current 5th gen owners are in the same position; we may not have our answer until the year 2040, at the earliest, as to whether the car is collectible. |

I agree. Which is part of the reason why I want to buy another one, but I will get a refresh (2014/2015) model year for my next car. This way I have my bases covered.

I think the future will be good to the 5th gen. The styling on them is timeless much like the 1st gen it was modeled after.

The ZL1 the Z28 and the 1LE will be the big collectable targets along with the track only COPO`s. The Calloway and Nickey should be good too.

Not that I bought my car thinking about this at all but after thinking about it I am sure the Z/28 will be and maybe hopefully the 1LE’s like mine since they made just a few hundred in each color each year. Who knows but hopefully all 5th gens will be for all of our sake. I hope to pass mine down to my now 8 yr old son or maybe our newborn! I definitely don't intend on letting the car sit in the garage though. These things need to be driven in my opinion. Im over 80k already.

Look at the 3rd gens the 1LE is coveted as are the Ex Players GM Motorsport cars from the racing series. Even the 4th gen had a 1LE but there really were no differences between a regular V8 model with an M6. BTW I bought mine to drive not save for a future owner glad to see you did the same.

[QUOTE=Modernmusclecar;10790406]It's already a classic look compared to the 6th gen. In 30 years when people are hot rodding imo it will be there retro look of the 5th gen thats desirable. I said it years ago....it's the 57 Chevy of Camaros [QUOTE]

The '14-'15 Z28 will be the most desirable 5th gen along with the COPO drag version IMO.

I tend to disagree a little bit. If you look at the fox body Mustang. I would say in comparison they made more of those than the 5th gen Camaro because the car had a longer run with the same body style. They were everywhere back in the 80's - 90's. I rarely see them in Michigan where I live. If you do find them, most of them are beat up, molested, and rusted out. If you come across a clean one nowadays they are worth a ton... Especially the notchbacks and 1993 cobras. I would say 1993 cobra is probably in line with what a z28 will be like for the 5th gen down the road. I do agree a vehicle like that will be worth way more than your average SS Camaro due to the limited production of them. I think honestly only time will tell. Personally myself I never bought this car is an investment though.

Without a doubt, the most desirable 'street legal' 5th gen Camaro will always be the Z/28. Low mileage Z/28s will only appreciate in value as time goes on.
We all know the COPO Camaro will be worth more but they are such a niche car and not street legal. For other 5th gen models, the mileage and rarity of factory options will determine the value of a car in the future. ZL1s will be valuable in the future but I think their value will be based on how rare the options are. Convertible ZL1s will be worth good money simply because of how rare they are. 20+ years from now, I think 5th gen Camaros overall will be known as a success for GM. The production numbers were good and it revived the Camaro nameplate.
