The next ZL1 and GT500?

http://www.automobilemag.com/feature...vy-camaro-zl1/

Automobile is chiming in on the next muscle super cars. A V6 GT500?

I don't see the GT500 getting a TTV6. The GT got the TTV6 due to racing classifications. The GT500 doesn't have to follow those.

True, but the idea of the demise of the V8 has been floating around Ford lately. A turbo on either engine means more power with just a tune. And less heat soak than superchargers.

A V6 GT500 would get a rough time from the Mustang faithful. Sooner or later though the V8 will mostly go away. Now if we only get a DCT on a pony car.

That's not a gt500. Shelby super snake. It's like a 50k package for a gt that Shelby offers.

Which in my opinion = fail. That's like 90k if you buy a 40k gt to start. The next gt500 will be nowhere close to that price and perform pretty close to it I would guess.

Yes what he said not a factory car. I've heard rumors they will be using a TT 5.0 for the next GT500

Lately, I have a real strong itch to go for a gen6 ZL1. Hope we see it available late 2016 like they hint in this article. The new car looks sooo nice

ok.

why do they need so many alternatives ? they have the GT, GT350, GT350R, now the super snake and then also a gt500.

Super Snake is just a tuner car, like Saleen or Roush not a separate model like the GT, GT350, GT500. Technically the R is package on the GT350 similar to how 1LE is a package on a SS.

I understand the logic tho, you could use a slight variation of the Ford GT engine and it would make a killer performance car. If that is what they do remains to be seen.

The GT, GT350 GT350R and eventual GT500 Are all made in house by ford. they are Ford produced vehicles. They are the equivalent to SS, Z/28 ZL-1.

the Super Snake and any other Shelby name on a mustang are post title packages that anyone with a mustang can pay Shelby American for. NOT related to Ford in anyway other than you have to supply Shelby American with a Mustang. Think of Shelby American like a lingefelter car, or whatever post title package companies are out there for Camaros.

And they still built the Voodoo. Their success with the ecoboost family allows them to play quite a bit on the performance side, as the GT350 has a gas guzzler tax.

There is some grumblings about a ecoboost coyote however.

Guess you were right, there is a constant need for education/re-education!

I think it's ridiculous how many names the mustang has come up with. GT, GT500, GT350, GT350R, Cobra, Terminator, Super Snake I can go on and on but that's another story.

The Camaro isn't lacking in model names either
