In that case yes, I would do it.

You can get an upper induction cleaning to help clean up the mess that already exists and then start running a catch can.

We generally recommend doing it at each oil change but every car is different. Some have more blowby that others. You should monitor how much oil you are catching after installing your catch can and determine the proper interval for your application.

In response to the "I have (Insert miles) on my car, is this a good idea?" people, the answer is always going to be yes. Every bit of junk you can save from going into your engine is going to be worth it down the road. Best to start sooner rather than later, but sometimes that can't be helped.

Are they supposed to come with one? I got my car yesterday, and today I popped the trunk for the first time, and there is a catch can and hardware in a box in the trunk.

The PCV system has two sides. They are referred to as the "clean side" (responsible for about 5% of the problem) and the "dirty side" (responsible for 95% of the problem). The 1LE includes includes a "clean side" oil separator where the aftermarket catch cans you see are for the "dirty side". The optimal solution is running both.

I checked out where the good catch cans mount but I have a question. I plan on running the New Era OTR intake on my car and it requires that the radiator be tipped back a little bit. Do you guys know if the Elite or Apex catch cans will still leave enough room? It looks like they mount off of the front and are hanging just behind the radiator.

I say if your just bolt ons then no. My gxp was very clean on the inside of the manifold at 55k miles. Big cam or boost or both then yes.

Rx Performance installed mine yesterday with 3,004 miles in. Tracy had to clean the manifold a bit and also suggested I run half a can of sea foam to clean out the valves since there already is a little bit of oil in there after viewing it through a scope.

You will definitely be able to run the Elite can. We offer them with 2 different brackets depending on where you would like to place the can. Feel free to call, PM or email me anytime with questions.

EVERY vehicle you buy should get a catch can!!! Unless you like shorter engine life, more detonation and less fuel mileage???

It should be the first mod done when buying a vehicle. I put one on my wife's new veloster and drain 4 cups of oil out at every oil change!!! Mercedez are some of the worst offenders going through 1-2 quarts every oil change!!!
