Don't do it, it's not a daily driver for you, Rent a car for two days , some small piece of crap for the cheapest price possible and you will be better off compared to the money You will be spending down the road if you are keeping that car for a long time.

When I put my Camaro away for the winter, there is no compromise! I have rented a car when my winter beater needed work.

Just drive it, and give it a good wash. especially the undercarriage. I used to live right on the beach, and would wash it almost every other day. no rust under my car can't say the same for my wifes cruze tho. We got our cars on the same day.

Third winter driving in Canadian winter and I haven't noticed any damage yet...just hose her off when you're done and make sure there isn't any residue!

Driving in that crap once begins a process you can't undo. The non-coated parts under the car and hood will never be the same, and there are many. The finished, painted outer body will be fine. You being a body should know very well that cars now are so much more rust resistant then cars before. Driving a car for a couple of days will not damage any underbody or under hood parts. There isn't anyone trying to bs the op.

Body shop guys, enthusiasts, arm chair maestros.

ITS NOT THE 1980'S!!!!!!!!!

The cars are galvanized steel and sealed. When I traded in my 2008 Infiniti G35X which saw 5 winters I had the car up on the hoist to see how things were, I saw no issues and nothing attention getting. Now maybe GM sucks, but I dunno.

Unless your car is a museum piece, the winter is nothing to fear.

Do you think it's a status thing to not drive the car you love in the winter? I can get a winter car, chit I could get a winter Lexus, but I can't be away from Christine for months on end.

You sell to a dealer or really anyone not on C5 that will overpay for a garaged car and the non winter cars won't get much more than the winter cars.

There are hundreds of un-coated or nicked-up items from the factory. They will start to corrode. Will they break? Nope. Will they start to look crappy? Sure.

Cars are better than 10 years ago but there are always tons of parts left unprotected because the average buyer don't care.

It's okay. We all know what we know.
