E85 question
Ok so my car is tuned on 93 only. It's on the rich side during a pull. Roughly high 10s afr. Would I be safe running a couple gallons of E85 in my tank?

well yeah you could sure, it should work in theory yes, if you can monitor/datalog afr/kr ect. but not something I'd just want to go "wing it" every time and hope its right. Flex fuel sensors are cheap and easy to install. The gains switching to e85 on high boost setups are huge its well worth it as long as you have decent tuner

What’s taking you so long? You should have already been converted over to E85 long ago. Very good gains there.

E85 is only sold at two stations locally and both are a 20-25 min drive away. I'm going to a street outlaws event in Bowling Green and was going to put some in the tank for just a added octane boost. My car was tuned on a 90* day. Well the temps at night are dropping in the 40s. I've been noticing my car gets boost spikes sometimes so in was hoping at just a couple gallons of corn to get just a slight better octane and some cooling on the piston.
But im just wondering since it requires more fuel for e85 will my car lean out some with running a couple gallons?

Do you have a flexfuel sensor?

Yes it will lean out if you add enough e85, maybe throw a couple gallons of race fuel in would be safer. Do you have a wideband o2 gauge?

I cant see that working. without the sensor I can only see problems.

I don't have the sensor. I'm not looking at add timing. Just octane and some cooling on the pistons.
Yes I have a wideband. During a pull it's around 10.8 afr. Im only on 14* of timing and on the rich side. It running a little lean probably would help some but I'm just after the cooling and octane. Only race gas I have is 116 leaded

No one is gonna tell you to do it, but it'll work. My car picked up a ton of power when I did my first flex fuel tune and was running only a 50/50 mix of pump gas and e85 which would be around 45-50% ethanol total. Just keep the a/f ratio in the 11's, monitor knock if possible or read plugs after pull
