The most obvious beneficiary is the ATS-V’s twin-turbo V6, which shares block architecture with Cadillac’s familiar 3.6 and little else. Its crank is forged, its con rods are titanium and its valve train is upgraded. Gasoline is fed at 2,900 psi to maintain optimum fuel delivery and pulse precision even at 1.25 lateral g. Its turbos have low-inertia titanium-aluminide turbines and vacuum-actuated waste gates. Its patented low-volume intercooler improves packaging efficiency and maximizes charge cooling. The track-ready lubrication system includes a dedicated oil-cooler and high-velocity pump.
The net result of Cadillac’s handiwork is 464 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque, SAE certified. That’s 11 hp more than the initial projection, and 39 more than the M3’s inline six…and more than the RS5’s V8, and only a few ponies less than V8s in the RC-F or 2016 C63, with more torque than all but the Mercedes.

And that was the M6. Think we will see low 12s from the A8.

Leave the eight-speed automatic in Drive. In Track mode, it accurately anticipates and executes downshifts in braking zones and smoothly performs shifts mid-corner. Manual transmission ATS-Vs offer automatic rev matching (you can turn it off) and no-lift shifting, which means you can go full High School mode on the upshifts. Beyond adjusting the dampers, differential, steering, throttle response, and engine sound, Track mode also gives access to the very clever Performance Traction Management. Its five modes of increasing aggressiveness provide a good means of learning the car's limits. The system works so smoothly that you have to slide big to prompt intervention.

The absolute ONLY thing I find a bit surprising is the weight. I honestly thought it'd be 60 lb lighter. It won't hurt a thing.

What's impressive is the handling and part of that is the massive stopping power! Mickey D's, eat your heart out. ATS-V = I'm lovin' it!

Personally, I still prefer the CTS-V, but this ATS-V is a great little performer and to see the power level and just how well it moves and stops... this car got it honest!

0-60 and 1/4 mile aside(as good as they are) . . . The .98g's lateral acceleration isn't just a little impressive. 70-0 in 154? C'mon! 60-0 in 103... WHAT? Hello Corvette zone! If you're a performance car enthusiast and not impressed by this car... yer just lyin'!

The car tested was over $10000 more then the base model, thus it was loaded, so the 3700 could be base weight.

I thought the same thing, till I noticed the 1 showing weight is using the manual transmission and it seems neither had the moon roof, so it could weigh more. I'm curious of the carbon fiber parts and weather or not they add or subtract weight. Either way, this thing is getting the job done and the slight excess in my expected weight isn't hurting it.

Does the 8spd weigh more or less than the 6M? I know it's lighter than the outgoing 6A, but I don't know what it really does weigh and can't even remember what the 6M weighs.

The one had an MSRP of $78,995... at least it had an auto! Still, that's over $15,000 in OPTIONAL equipment. I think that should include the moon roof and the personal masseuse! Better still, a CUE operator...

Each article showed a base MSRP of $63,660 and I'm still wondering why it's more than the sedan, but whatever. It's a Cadillac!

I saw another POV video of someone driving the car at CoTA and it sounded amazing, like a Ferrari or something.

Was hoping for a little quicker from the auto but I bet it will run 11's with private drivers. Zl1 drivers better be on notice.
