In regards to the looks of the new Mustang, I agree with you. I think the front end is good, but I'm not a huge fan of the side profile and I really dislike the back end. Overall I don't like the looks of the new Mustang. Even the interior I'm not a huge fan of, way too many buttons IMO. However the GT350 is freaking awesome in both appearance and features it offers. I can only assume that its track times will reflect it.

While a cheap shot yes, perhaps some perspective. Ford's MOST expensive car starts at...$27,000. The Mustang starts at $23,800. Of course the Camaro starts at $23,700 but the SS sedan starts at $45,000 and the Corvette starts at $55,000. SS sedan is a one-off so irrelevant to this discussion but Chevrolet has been selling the Corvette in this premium bracket for 60 consecutive years. Sure Ford has sold a few GT40's in the 60's and early 2000's but most Ford owners wouldn't even know what the GT40 is. Ultimately the performance will speak for itself and resale value will hold up nicely since production numbers are relatively low. We live in an era of $60k+ pony cars lol

The Z06 has the A8 but GM says to get the M7 if you want to track your car more than occasionally.

Can the R coolers (engine, trans, diff) be added to the regular GT350 in the garage or is it a big deal to install? 19X10.5 and 19X11 wheels wow.

Edit, ah I see those are part of the Track Pack. So ordering a base GT350 + track pack and you get the coolers.

I'm more interested in torque gains, if any, and power under the curve.

Hopefully it has real weight loss and not just "stripper model weight loss" and carbon fiber wheels.

I've been hearing chatter about production being limited for these cars....Why would that be the case?...Seems like a silly way to go, especially if they are calling it a "bargain" or "low cost"....

The car doesn't seem all that exotic to be declared "limited production"...???

Failure? Name one car that can hang with a Z/28 for 75K? The Z/28 hasn't lost to any Mustang yet. If the GT350 can beat it at this price I will be thoroughly impressed but I do believe it will take the R to beat it. And the real comparison will be when GM has fully shown what the sixth gen is capable of. Ford should be able to beat an older, heavier chassis.

The failure is in the price and not the performance. This is why they are collecting dust on dealers lots. My guess is that the GT350s will sell very well.

I have no doubt 6th Gen z28 will wipe the floors with gt350r, gm never fails with these things

And instead of a gt350r I'd rather buy a GTR and let the computer drive for me

2015 MY is limited to 100 GT350's and 37 GT350R's.

2016 MY and beyond will not be nearly as limited, but I'm sure the actual production numbers will be similar to the Boss 302 and GT500 offerings in the past, meaning if you want one and can afford one, they should be readily available for order/purchase.

As for the bargain, it is much like the z/28. As many have stated, the track performance you get for that $75K price is better than many cars costing two or three times that bring to the table. IF the GT350 ends up outperforming the z/28 (a big if, IMHO) and costs less, how could it not be considered great bang-for-the-buck?

Jim Owens The Shelby Brand Manager stated between 4000 and 6000 units for 2016. So If you want a GT350 you should be able to get one. Even at 5000 units a year, that's higher than the Boss and GT500.

Im just going to leave it at that bc I don't want you and I cluttering up the thread haha.

I get what your saying though, but like you said in your last line, 60K pony cars are now out there and accepted by the public.
