2016 Camaro 2ss or 2013 ZL1
I'm debating which one I should get.

Are you gonna mod it? If so, get the ZL1. Stock for stock I'd probably get a 2016 SS.
For the money you are gonna spend on CAI, headers etc for the 2016, you can do a cheaper RotoFab, pulley and injectors and be at ~675hp on the ZL1. Plus a more stout driveline, axles, fuel system, stronger engine, NPP, MRC, unique body etc

The ZL1 is one sweet machine and you can get one for around $40k new but I would have to pass and pick up a 2016 SS IMHO it's just offers so much more that we did not get with the 5th Gen cars.

I thought about it too. There's one near me for $68k, but it's been there for about 2-3 years. The rep told me they'll probably drop the price nearly in half soon just to get rid of it. Having considered that I'd still go 6th gen. The chassis and interior is just SO much nicer. I don't need 600+ hp more than I need the better handling and creature comforts. This will definitely be a daily driver after all.

Edit.. I guess it could be a convertible. Persons at this dealership don't sound too smart though.. |

It really depends on which generation you like better. If you like the 5th gen better get the ZL1. If you want the latest, greatest thing get a 6th gen. Think about what you will be happier with in 5 years. If you are still going to like having the last generation of Camaro vs the likely current generation in 5 years go 5th gen.
Me, I'd go with the ZL1. There's enough that I love about the 5th gen that I'm not going to get rid of mine any time soon. If I do anything I'd buy a 6th gen in addition to the 5th, but that's only if the wife would let me. I think I need a bigger garage first!

There are very few ZL1s around. Very, very few new ones and only a few used.
And no ZL1 has sold for half price so far. LOL. Unless it was bought as an insurance total loss. ZL1s will hold thier vaue better than a new SS. But the CA6 SS is a great car. You can't go wrong with either. The ZL1 is more muscle and bad a**, the new SS is more of a sophisticted sports car. Or so the magazines say.

It's is in fact a conv. Looked like NPP out back. Needs new tires though. I think they've been having some fun with it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I couldn't get past the *bleh* factor of the gen 5 interior vs. gen 6 AND I really didn't find a significant amount of difference between the power delivery of the ZL1 vs. the Gen 6 SS - at least not enough to make me re-think my decision on a 2SS. Cheers. |

That's not bad at all. Buddy of mine recently bought a C7 Z51 for about $54k with 3800 mi on it. There are some good deals out there right now. I'm probably going to wait until about August to make the purchase, baring some great deal or making more money than I estimated. Definitely going to keep an open mind on deals. Get the '16 SS. The interior alone of the Gen5 was so poor. Not a place I'd want to be spending much time.
