Traded my Z06 in today on a 16 Camaro SS. Did Truecar pricing but the dealer beat it and gave me supplier pricing without me even asking. Can't argue with that!!!

I ordered a Nightfall Grey, 1SS, black interior, A8 trans, MRC, NPP exhaust, Black Bow ties, and bright split spoke wheels. Car is estimated to be here by the end of Jan or middle of Feb.

Planned first set of mods are to get rid of that fugly rear spoiler with something like the RS rear spoiler, GM's CAI, front grill, and wider tires. Can't really do much larger than a 255 up front and 285 in the rear. Why GM decided to go with such skinny tires on a car that makes 455hp I'll never understand.

Any way now the waiting begins .........

I am a little surprised that you did not go with a C7 Vette but the new Camaro is a great car. I think that by the time your car arrives we might know more about the ZL1 - Z28 - 1LE that are coming. These should have wider tires. Pictures of these cars testing show that they are using ZL1/1LE rims and wider tires. Best of luck with your new car, you picked a great set of options.
I didn't go with the C7 because I wanted to put some money back into my savings. This way I get the SS and a nice sized check from the dealer

From what I remember it was a special request that needs to be done over the phone by your dealer with the help desk. They need to request a standard trunk lid. And then the RPO blade spoiler needs to be added to the order. The smaller LT RS spoiler isn't supposed to be available on the SS.

Thanks for the info, I'll pass it on to my salesman. We are trying for the RS spoiler but the blade spoiler would be my second choice.

I also owned a 2009 Z06 3lz car. Loved it, but rarely drove it. I owned the car for 4 years and sold it with 2800 miles on it. The ls7 valve dropping scared me away from the car as well. Time to move into an ss .. drove an a8 2ss yesterday, more gizmos than I need or want. I will be ordering a 1ss npp 6 speed.

If nothing else, I'm sure you'll be able to find an LT owner that will trade deck lids with you. This is pretty common in the Subaru community.

What did they give you for your Z06? You see 09's selling for under 40k pretty frequently.

I got supplier pricing on the Camaro and 46k for my Z06. Had to really fight for the 46k for my car. First offer was 42k which was laughable.

I'm guessing you won't be the only one moving from a Vette to a Camaro. My dealer had an 08 or 09 z06 for just under 40, they took a 14 2ss rs on trade.

I don't see why this a stretch at all! I agree whole heartedly with your decision. The Z06 is a BAD BOY but your 6th Gen is nicer in almost every way. I'm jealous!! Congrats!

Yeah it really sucks cause I love my Z06 but it was just too much of a gamble to keep it for me. A new motor costs north of 15k and I just don't have that kind of money. I'm sure we will both be happy with our SS Camaro's. I plan to drive mine a lot.

Thanks! I'm sure I'll enjoy the Camaro. The Z is a beast but the dynamics of the new Camaro is on a whole different level.

Chassis dynamics of the '16 Camaro are superior to the Z06?? If so, that's impressive!
