Using spacers with stock SS wheels

Trying to get the flush look with stock wheels. What size spacers will be needed? Is there a negative side to using spacers?

Because the stock wheels sit in too much. They look 100 times better when they are flush with the fender.

This guy said he is running 20mm all the way around and it looks

I want the same fitment I have now with the TSWs, so what offset and rim size should I go with? There's got to be some math here to figure what I need. Here are some pics of how my current set looks. Anyone?

Thanks...I like look of the 20mm spacers. Are there any negative impact to running spacers?

I love the look as well.

But I've read the disadvantages is extra unsprung weight, not to mention I've heard that the spacers may need to be checked and retighted from time to time? I don't like the thought of having to worry about checking them.

Is that correct? I'm a bit of a noob on this, but it is cool.

I'm guessing just putting the rears on the front help to make the front more flush? Or are they just wider on the inside of the rim and would sit no more flush with the wheel well as the fronts???

Disadvantages depend on who you ask. Some people will tell you that adapters are the devil and that your car will burst into flames if you run them.

The added un sprung weight shouldn't matter because the stock wheels are already really heavy. You won't notice a couple extra lbs right on the hub.
As long as you torque them correctly you only need to check them once after you put them on brand new, just like a new set of wheels.

If you are not doing any kind of racing, running 20mm adapters (NOT SPACERS) should be just fine.

Thats my car :-) Spacers are fine if you run good quality hub centric spacers like the H&Rs I have. The H&Rs on my car are for the camaro and ONLY the camaro, these are not universal junky ones you see at pep boys and what most people think of when you say spacers. When I installed my spacers they fit nice and tight on the hub and the wheel fit nice and tight on them. I have had zero issues with balance or vibration, I've had the car up to 150mph with these spacers. I will be tracking the car at the Autoclub speedway in august and I'm very confident that I won't have any problems while going around the nascar track at 150.

Hi,

Did you have to modify the wheel studs for the H&R adapters?

Yes, I had to cut off about a 1/4" on each one. The first 1/4" of the studs has no threads anyway so it doesn't affect anything.

Call me crazy, but I actually prefer the tucked look. When I got my Forgestars, I specifically said that I don't want them to be flush at all. It looks like the "hella flush" movement that I see many do here in the bay with imports.

Thanks man. I've gotten a lot of compliments on it. I've had people ask "why does yours look better than others?". It's a really subtle mod that makes a big difference.
