dyno says 502 rwhp 460 rwtq,

I thought I read, saw, or heard someone say the LSX 454 could handle 1200 hp, but I'm by no means certain of that.

The chevy dealership did the install for me. (I've been using them for 8 years now, most of them know me by name.) They said you could put a S/C or turbo on it, but the compression would mean you needed race fuel, and could NOT run pump fuel.

One final thing, just personal suggestion regarding forging the ls3 vs crate 454, the engine is approx $10,000 I think jeggs has it for a little less, but I paid 10k, I also went through the dealership though.

And just in case anyone didn't know, it is a cast iron block with forged internals and aluminum heads.

Its very nice but I would not run FI on that engine no matter what gas you use. Do you have a stick or auto trans?

Thanks for the info guys. Glad you got the LSX and making alot of power. For me, im leaning towards a forged LS3 and keep my maggie. Would love to sleeve the block and up it to a 427 displacement, but just that no one here in Hawaii does any sleeving, so would cost fortune and alot of downtime due to shipping times (4-6 weeks shipping each way going the cheapest route).

I have auto trans and custom torque converter, from there to the wheels is stock. (not including CAI headders and exhaust)

as for the old maggie, I might could arrange that. Right now a buddy said he'd take the engine and bring it to a machine shop to fix then re-sell. (There was no core charge for the old engine, and he thinks he can fix it.) However, he mentioned parting it out, If you seriously want the maggie, pm me and I'll get you in touch with him.

I read that the LSX block was good to 2500 HP , I guess it depends on the configuration.

Cool story, bro.

I'm guessing that info doesn't help... since this thread is a year old.

Well, since we are already necroposting this thread back to life and then back to death again, I'll add something on topic towards the OP:

Glad you got everything worked out, and your Camaro is really BA looking too. I'd get EmblemPros to make you some LSX 454 badges to put on the hood cowl. That way, if some tool rolls up next to you and thinks he's going to mess with you, he might think twice if he sees that on the hood! Or, maybe not, maybe you want a sleeper so you can really make them feel stupid when they try you.

I had the LSX 454 badges from emblempros made in onyx I still need to put them on. I was going to leave them off so people wouldn't know what I had but I don't think the ricers would know anyway. Plus the sound of the car gives it away

I just had some stickers made in the LSX 454 emblem and put those on the side of the hood like you said. My "ss" badge broke on the trunk lid, so I just pulled those off and put "LSX 454" there too.

And I learned a new term... Necroposting... that's a new one for me, but I like it.
