Another Quickjack Question
Hi All,
I’ve read every post on C6 about these and now I’m ready to pull the trigger on a Quickjack purchase. However, it appears that they have reworked their model numbers (might have been done a year or so ago – not sure). As it stands I’m ready to go with the 5000TLX as it is only $50 more than the 5000TL, and I figure the extra frame length might come in handy at some point. Car is an ’18 1LE and has the ZL1 Addons lift pads (non-stealth). Anything I’m missing or need to consider before picking these up? Thanks in advance!

I really like the idea of a QJ however,
crawling under one makes me a bit nervous. |

I believe that they increased the amount they raise up, but I'm not positive.

QJ is quite solid when raised, and when set in one of it's 2 locking height positions, is not relying on hydraulics to keep the car elevated. There's a YT video testing how much weight the 5000 can hold before failing, and if I recall correctly it was way higher than 5K pounds.
I too was leary of going under the car on my quickjack the first couple of times, but now I don't think twice about it. |

I have thought about these as well, what are you guys using to have the QJ touch the lift pads with? I saw a video once where someone used cut wood to put in the slots of the QJ and they said it was more stable.

Make sure that the pads are screwed to the pinch welds with the set screws because they can roll that's very very bad. QJ is some of the best money I ever spent saved me thousands for sure.

I love my QuickJack I did a pretty in-depth setup and install video on the 7000TLX which works perfect lifting my ZL1 I use the zl1addons pinch weld lift point mounts with them hooked to the rear pinch welds and the second back front pinch welds.
When lifted at max height and on the locking bars I slide a set of stacked race ramp wheel cribs under the tires for extra safety in the event somehow the lock bars explode during a hurricane or something haha. As for the TLX type series they add more lift height which is always nice! Def worth the extra few bucks. Also, I'd recommend grabbing their wall mounts which lets you mount the frames to the wall when not in use. Here is the video I did on the QuickJack: Here is a quick YouTube "short" video of me lifting up my Camaro (sadly this forum only puts a link to the clip and does not embed shorts for whatever reason): https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Wn_noH7oT1w

I bought extra pinch weld style blocks off amazon and can tell you that once the car is lifted it is beyond secure
As long as you reach a locking point the car isn't going anywhere. I feel a lot safer under my cars on the QJ then I have ever felt on jack stands.
