Unfortunately it will be 2017 before we start seeing some fun colors.
That Camaro badge on the side needs to be a smidge bigger too. |

Wow! This car looks amazing with the z28 spoiler! I can not stand the current spoiler they've chosen for the ss. Hopefully either the z28 spoiler will fit (not likely) or next year Chevy will release an updated z28 with a similar spoiler and we will be able to buy it aftermarket

The lamps are based on some Camaro 6th gen concept drawings somebody made years ago. The concept drawing's tail lamps ironically ended up looking like what would be the 2013 Mustang's lamps, when they introduced black centers to the 3-bar design. It wasn't a bad look, and it unfortunately didn't live very long until the 2015 Mustang came out. I just figure it's a more logical progression from the original quad lamps on the 5th gen Camaro. Plus, it ends up mirroring the design scheme of the 6th gen's front RS head lights — a light bar with a dark center. It just makes a lot more sense.
At least it's better than horizontal lamps that look similar to what the majority of modern cars have. As Camrys and Toyotas aim to look sportier to boost sales, something like a Camaro needs to take a bolder leap to differentiate itself. The 2016's current lamps are just not bold enough to stand on their own. They are a vague nod to the Stingray because the guy who designed the C7 Corvette (Tom Peters) also lead the 6th gen Camaro's design. He also lead design of the infamous Pontiac Azktek which has the worst rear end of any car in history. It was nice when the Camaro looked like nothing else in Chevy's lineup and had that sort of black sheep / concept car feeling. Last edited by RenegadeXR; 05-31-2015 at 01:44 PM. |
