You going to tube your car after the headers install? If so I'm assuming you'll fail smog with a non-factory tune.

you will not fail smog just because you have a tune, you will fail if you don't pass visual inspection (mere presence of long tubes or if your cats have been moved or do not exist) or if you have any error codes (check engine light).

The problem with recommending a shop for installing long tube headers in the OC on a forum such as this is that you are alerting the HEADER POLICE in CA to where they are located. The best way is ask around or keep your eyes open for someone who has them and ask them where they had them installed. After all it is illegal to have them on you vehicle let alone installing them on a vehicle.

Like VR Baron said. Personally just to play it safe, I would just go with the smog legal shorties listed here: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=437263, then add on some high flow cats and replace them with the stock ones when it comes time to smog. I mean all the headache that comes with having long tubes, is it worth the few extra hp gains from having longtubes? For me no. I'd go find the extra hp by putting other mods on my car.
Besides, who knows if you happen to be the unlucky one that gets pulled over for inspection then fined thousands of dollars, that money could have gone to even better mods for the car.

you can pass 2 dozen cops a day [I do] but it only takes one to take an interest in your car to start giving you a hard time...I know. while I was pulled over 2x in the same parking lot by the same officer for being too loud and let go 2x, I was told if he hears my car again he will be sending me to a state ref. ive since installed an electric cut out and I have still been followed out of the same parking lot a few times since. all it takes is one!

Join the military and change your state of residency to one that doesnt require smog checks, then register the car in that state, Or find a shop that will over look the LT's (hard to find nowadays)

As far as shops in the bay area, I have no idea. Shops that will "over look" things are mainly found by word of mouth in car clubs/shows, and would be slim to none, Do you still have the stock pieces?. I ran the DT Shorties before i changed my registration back to AZ so i never have had to worry about smog.

Planning on running long tubes and I'm just gonna go to a couple local meets and find out what's up. I pass 5 Mustangs a day who I absolutley know have long tubes installed. It may be illegal but it ain't uncommon.
