besides the heated leather seats, what else is different between the 1SS and 2SS base models? Thinking of buying a 1SS.

2SS gets the multi-colored mood lighting.
More interior color choices. The 1SS comes in grey or black only.
I think the 2SS has an upgraded stereo too? 7 speakers vs. 9?

The 1SS is definitely the best value.

I made a list when comparing for my order. I think this is most things the 2SS gets, but may have missed a few. I dropped down from a 2010 2SS to a 2016 1SS. I decided I could live without most of these things, and instead put the money towards NPP, MRC, and future stuff. A few gave me minor heartburn, but didn't think it was a big enough deal. Just personal preference (and budget )

The 1SS is definitely the best value.

I agree, the 1SS gets the non-performance upgrades. I can see the HUD bordering on that line, but not necessary. A 1SS 1LE is really what has my interest.

I wanted several items on the 2SS and could still get the NPP and MRC, so this is mostly a person choice as to whats important for your price point.

I think the 1ss was the better value. I didn't need the heads up, navi I never used in my impala and I didn't really care about the heated and air cooled seats although I did love those in the past. My biggest things I miss is the Bose and the blind spot/cross traffic. Other than that I'm good. All I wanted was the NPP and 6 speed manual. I added factory leather to my 1ss

The 2SS stereo IS an upgrade to the 1SS. In fact, I believe it's the same stereo that my Silverado High Country had in it sans the woofer.
