That Camaro would be getting more hp at the rear-wheels than a ZR1,...who needs that much power!? But still,....it just gives you an idea of what kind of performance your getting for 125k.

You can definitely "mod up" and come out cheaper than 125k and still have money to play with. But besides the name, you are also paying for the testing and labor- heavily, for this car. From what we've seen, Hennessey makes high quality modified car, and because of that, your damn sure gonna pay. I don't need Hennessey's name on my car, nor do I have the money to pay for it, so I just chose to modify my car the best way we all know how, buy the parts and bring it to a reputable performance shop and tell them what you'd want, and put them to work. It would be far less than 100k, even 50k for that matter.
agreed 100%

Putting on wheels, exhaust, ground effect kits, tunes etc DOESN'T and will not make these cars valuable in the future. Definatley not spending six figures on somebody's name make it more valuable. Case n point 1969 COPO Camaro numbers matching in ORIGINAL condition $150,000-200,000, a Don Yenko 1969 Camaro in original numbers matching condition $70,000-$85,000.....
Very true... And neither do i need anyones name on my car except my own...

have you seen the parts list that is included in that package?

do you under stand the R&D needed to do a LS9 swap?

I dont disagree that is it a heafty price. But you get what you pay for most of the time. And there are plenty of people that want a well built, engineered vehicle. thats wy Hennessy and Lingenfelter are as popular as they are.

if all you can afford is a 2SS and a maggie, than thats fine...
but you have to remember that you are getting much more than a rwhp number, as i said, look at the parts list.

A SS Gen5 can be recammed, supercharged and tuned for less than 10k. Anyone could completely repower a SS Gen5 add performance heads,ie , and have it equiped with a supercharger and retuned for less than 20k in necessary circumstances..............add either of these cost to the list price and you'd have two supercharged SS's in the garage with spare change to boot if you had 125k to blow.

That's what I was thinking. The LS9 is a major swap... lots of things to work out, but once they are... sa-weet!!

I have 772hp at the crank and 660hp at the wheels and it didnt cost anywhere near that

Absolutely will not. Yes it will be worth more than a similar vintage Camaro in 10-20+ years, it will never ever touch even half the original purchase price though even with more time.

now the only reason to pay for them to do it is because it should be a complete package. i mean if its just an engine swap then its not worth it. if they swap the engine and add some better performing suspension parts and have it all dialed in then yes it could be worth it.

I was at the track a couple weeks back and a guy who's on this board rolled in driving a 700. Nice car and I say go ahead if you have the $$$$. SOme people have more money then time. The guy wasn't too happy with his times since he couldn't get traction to save his life, the thing is that he has the power and just needs to stock some slicks on it to roll in the 11's. The tech guy really gave him a hard time because of the supercharged LS9, there are lots more rules for supercharged 11 second capable cars. I know he didn't get into the 12's that day and may have even missed the 13's. My stock 2SS ran a best 13.232 that day and I only have 39k in it before taxes.

Total agree... Whats the use of spending $120 grand and can't put the power to the ground. The car may be nice and all, but you roll up to the lights and get smoked by a car with half its horespower you would be pissed to...

There is no shortage of members in the more money than brains club.....

That being said, if you can roll like that to pick one up and more importantly you want 1, then give Hennessey a call and pick 1 up.
