If you have HP Tuners you can perform the fast relearn procedure yourself. They should have done this.

Call me at (352)*552-7112 when you have some time. We can look at certain PIDs to see what is exactly happening and adjust accordingly.

Thanks, Tim, I'll give you a call this week. I do have HP Tuners but my TCM isn't unlocked yet. Not sure if I can do the relearn procedure without unlocking?

Anyhow, the car shifts good now after the dealer did the relearn. But it is still pulling timing going into 5th gear via Torque Management Advance. I'm really starting to wonder if this is programmed in by GM.

Final update:

After about 300 miles on my transmission after the dealer did another TCM reset, the transmission shifts like a beast now. I returned the car to its modded state (Rotofab/pray IM/TB) and put the tune back in from Tim @ EFI. It is back to shifting lightning fast and with no sluggish behavior.

It STILL pulls timing via TMA going into 5th gear but the Transmission guy at my dealer claims they are supposed to roll into 5th gear like that. I dunno, after hearing of others reporting the same thing I'm starting to believe GM may have programmed it that way. If I want to remove it I will need to get my TCM unlocked.

tuners claim to pick up 2-3 tenths in the 1/4 mile with a TCM reprogram. I bet that the 4-5 shift is one of the areas that they clean up. I can still see the TMA pulling on 4-5 but its not as bad as it was before the TCM reset by my dealer.

Glad to hear a TCM relearn is all that was needed. I hope this is a permanent fix and not a band-aid.

Has anybody had a chance to record the Tach on that 4-5 shift? Mine is doing it as well and its really noticeable. It sounds as if the trans is slipping and its only on that 4-5.. Car made 440whp and 430 tq on a mustang dyno if that has any relevance. I might try and get a vid of how the tach is super lazy on that 4-5 shift.

Datalog it and I bet you will see torque management pulling timing. My dealer said its normal. I disagreed but had it with the A8 troubles. I sold the car so no longer a problem. Now I have a 7 speed MANUAL Corvette.

So the dealership called me yesterday and said they found nothing wrong. I then went in and had the tech ride with me so i could recreate the problem. He said the car will jerk hard and traction light will flash if it hits red line. I swear they hire some of the most stupidest techs in the world to work at these dealerships. I told him I've had this car for more than a year and this problem wasn't always there. Long story short he didn't know $hit so i just told him to reprogram my ECU and ill hope for the best. Probably going to get rid of this car soon. I hate having a performance vehicle that cant perform. I bought the thing to go fast and race, hope the ZL1 doesn't have this issue because that was my next option.

Tires on the car? Check tread left and size. Compare to original.

I have only seen this issue in tour mode. Track mode is flawless.

ZL1 has the A10 transmission.

The torque converter bulletin is for the A8 transmissions.

I haven't seen any issues posted for the A10 yet.

Anyone find a solution to this? I’m getting trans slip after the 4-5 shift.

Yes I have since learned that the TCM is tuned from factory to do this on the 4-5 shift. You have to have it tuned out.
