So here is a question. Since there is already a 2.5 inch pipes, what would be the pros and cons of just cutting out the resonators and the areas that are obviously flattened and replacing it with new non-flattened and elimating the resonators do?

I heard that the two "cats" behind the second or rear set of o2 sensors were resonators not "cats". Is there any truth to that? Also sense there aren't o2 sensors behind the rear "cats" if thats what they are, can't you cut them out and the computer wouldn't know the difference and not throw a code.

What about just adding LT headers, HF cats then cutout and leave the rest back. Best of both worlds, quiet or loud ...

Cutouts are expensive but I wanna get them in the future. Can they be placed right after the longtube header? Like in between header and cat

Normally after the cat. Just ordered some and looking forward to the install. I did the ls3/LSA s/c conversion with stage II cam and my exhaust is LT kooks, HF cats to fabricated x-pipe, back to stock mufflers. I had trouble deciding on exhaust system as I've got some neighbors who don't "appreciate" the sound in the morning. In my situation I should get some extra hp with them open. See the other thread about cutouts.
