Windshield wiper arm rubbing hood

Hey everyone I need some help regarding my 2010 Camaro 1LT. About a year ago my passenger side windshield wiper arm started getting caught on my hood so I righted everything down thinking the bolt came loose. Well that fixed the problem for the most part but the arm was still pretty close to the hood so I took it the dealership to have them look at it (of course charged me $80 for that) and according to them my wiper motor isn't working which didn't make sense to me cuz I figured if the wiper motor wasn't working neither would the wipers. They clearly work but they messed something up cuz when I took it in the wiper arm would barely clearly the hood but after they "looked" at it, it has rubbed a spot into the hood. Has anyone had this issue before or has an idea what is the problem let me know please and I'll upload photos in a bit.

Looks sprung at the point where it gets to the smaller point. Wish I could mark where I am seeing. I am talking about where it goes from black to light about an inch from the hinge. Maybe put a piece of wood at that point and leverage down enough to clear your hood better.

I tried that and it just pops right back up, I'm also afraid if I push to hard I may break something.

has anyone taken the arm off the drive? the single nut..theres a spline that goes inside the arm if thats worn or stripped out might be causeing the arm to not be tough to the windsield (spring) if that makes sense hard to explain

You should be able to take the arm off and adjust it to keep it from going so low to hit the hood...
